Throughout the history of gaming, there have always been a few amazing games which for whatever reason haven't been given the attention and praise they deserve.
I want to bring attention to one of the oldest games of all time that while always popular in literature, movies and tv, and various other media, ironically hasn't quite received much credit in the gaming community.
Though many people find the single player gameplay to be fun and exciting in its own right, it's the two player aspect most people are drawn to. Given the confusing nature of the game, most people have trouble enough playing with just one other person, which is possibly why group play isn't as common as it is with other games.
Online play is a bit unusual in that most people largly prefer real life interaction with other players. It also seems most who go for online play are generally younger players or players growing more desperate for other gaming partners.
There are a number of areas to play, ranging from small and private areas to the ridiculously largescale, most of which have a changing scenery.
Though many people who play don't have much success and are turned off from the game, personally I find the level of difficulty to make it all the more fantastic and amusing.
What I like most about it is the incredibly expansive array of options available to the player. Most have a similar result, but it's the numerous amusing ways it can play out that I enjoy watching. Surprisingly, losing can be every bit as fun as winning. Mainly because once you win, the only play options left are rather sparce and require some creativity to keep it fun. Some of my favorite ways to finish a playthrough involve getting the other player near fire and pitfall traps, but virtually anything used to advance or lose can be just as fun.
I highly recommend this game. It's extremely fun, and I know for a fact that many users on this site have greatly enjoyed it.
