The tapping on the window continued. "Uh w-who is that?" Grim wondered, as a Girl with long black hair and dark blue eyes popped up. She wore a blue bow with a navy blue long sleeved shirt over a white long sleeved shirt. She also had a short black skirt and looked to be around 14 or 15.
"I'm Tomoyo. Ms. Death ordered me to check up on you and collect you if you were in trouble."
Grim had to reply to this statement.
"Um, well, yea, were currently being chased by some guy, so, help?" Tomoyo nodded.
She took out her saber and opened up the car, motioning for the two inside to come out.
"Please exit the car, we must leave quickly." Tomoyo said, emotionlessly.
But just as Grim pulled himself out, some police cars pulled up. Getting out, one yelled,
"Drop your weapons!"
Now would be a good time to explain something, every Reaper carries a weapon wherever they go... Tomoyo's weapon, the saber, is unsheathed, and Grim's scythe is strapped to his back and the cops could see it. Kaylee's weapon was hidden away underneath her clothes... somehow I'm gonna ask her about that next time I see her… But again, anyways…
Instead of dropping her weapon, Tomoyo sighed with a tiny bit of aggravation. She closed her eyes, and when she opened them, she had ruby red irises staring into the policemen's eyes. She made them freeze on the spot. After a little bit, the policemen dropped their guns. This is Tomoyo's special ability; she can go into people's hearts and do... stuff. Tomoyo turned to Grim, "Let's go." Unfortunately, Grim was too amazed to move. Kaylee got out of the car responding to orders as usual, "Tomoyo, right? Let's go."
Kaylee said as she then melded through the window shield, passing through it like it was a small wall of water she took her legs out and then jumped off the hood and started to leave. But Grim was still too amazed to move, and as Grim was building back his sense, so did the police.
"Drop your weapons!" Tomoyo tried her trick again, but it failed. "I said drop your we-"
A wrist-blade punctured through his heart. The man doing the thrusting was Snel. Despite only appearing about 20, he had gray hair. He also had black eyes, though they were just contact lenses, how does he see? Again, something to ask when I see him next…
Anyway, Snel wore the stereotypical ninja outfit, but without the mask. He retracted his blade and the policeman fell to the ground. Reaper weapons don't draw blood, they instead absorb it. It really helps with clean up, I remember when Reapers used normal weapons... a simple job like assassinating the king easily turned into a blood bath. After all it is very hard to get caught; unless you were like some of my other Reapers…
Snel's special ability is that he can turn invisible! Of course, it only works when he is in shadows when he turns it on, and he must be in the same shadow that he starts in to turn it off... and... Oh yea, his weapon is a hidden blade in case you haven't figured that out yet.
"Are you three going to help, or do I have to save you guys all by my damn self?"
Snel barked at the group as the other three police men turned towards Snel and started shooting. "But, Kaylee said that I didn't have to get my hands dirty…" Grim said, while Snel leapt onto one of the other police officers, killing them. "Then you can just stand back there and watch." Kaylee replied, unsheathing her sword from under her clothes. However, this act was needed at the time, since Snel lunged and took out the two remaining officers in one go. "C'mon, we gotta get out of here now! Otherwise, were gonna be attacked again." Snel ordered everyone around.
The group started running, and yes, they're talking… But when Kaylee stabbed another officer that Snel missed she simply gave him that 'I told you so' look she was semi-famous for…
."Hey, ninja guy," Grim addressed Snel insecurely. "How can you kill so easily?" Snel looked surprised at this question.
"You are a Reaper, right? It's a Reapers job to kill-" As soon as Snel finished, Grim made his comeback…
"Only the ones that Death can't!" Snel started laughing.
"You honestly believe that there is anyone besides Reapers that can't be killed by her? We do her work for her. That's what we do."
Tomoyo stared blankly off into space while emotionlessly declaring,
"Everything that is alive dies, even us. The difference between us and humans, is that we can take more and don't age. Our bodies are the soul-less bodies of people whose soul was stolen from their bodies."
"You actually believe that rumor?! You must be almost as new to being a Reaper as Grim!"
Kaylee's anger limit had been hit, anyone could see it in her eyes…
"WOULD YOU ALL STOP FUCKING AROUND AND GET OVER SOME STUPID SHIT SUCH AS KILLING A GODDAMNED PERSON WHO WAS ALREADY SUPOOSED TO FUCKING DIE?! I AM FUCKING SICK OF ALL OF YOU THREE'S STUPID ASS BULLSHIT!"
She screamed, now that would have been perfectly normal… except… well the only time Kaylee screams, swears, stops walking to do so with her hands pointing accusingly at a group of people, and her eyes shooting the daggers at the they aforementioned group hardly ever happened. This, yes this side of Kaylee was rare… she never swears, she never screams, and she never shoots 'eye-daggers' -as we so affectionately call them- unless she is extremely pissed off… I myself have only seen it once… and it –had it been followed up by a layer of aggression of course- would have sent a small chill up my spine… but then again Kaylee is always known as being a very calm-laid back kind of girl… this temper snap did prove interesting though…
Grim looked at Kaylee with wide eyes, for he had never seen her snap… not to this extent at least… Tomoyo who had never even heard of Kaylee snapping was stunned into silence… But the comical thing about it had to have been. Snel, he himself was staring mouth open in the most comical 'o' as he finally realized that –for lack of a better term- Kaylee had just politely told him to keep his mouth shut and go fuck himself… She then regained composure but still had a throbbing vein above her head.
"No, let's all go back to the HQ and report the extra… 'bonus' kills shall we?" she asked as she tied up her hair letting the back of her get some air since she had such long and thick hair…Kaylee sighed as she walked back muttering about the stupidity of others and how she is gonna beat the next person who opens their mouth…
Snel spoke sensing Kaylee's dark aura…
"Soo… How did you all get into this uh, predicament?" He asked.
Grim shrugged.
"I honestly don't know it happened so fast…"
"I think it had something to do with me… and let's face it Snel, I'm not a damned ninja…" Kaylee snapped.
Snel sighed at her harshness.
"I'm not accusing anyone I just wanted to know what the hell you all were doing… and okay, I got it… something happened and you all don't wanna say. It's cool…" He said trying not to anger her into a yelling, swearing, menace again…
"Yeah, yeah…" Kaylee sighed cooling off fairly quickly…
"Let's just get back to the HQ… and live the rest of our lives shall we?" Tomoyo asked quietly.
Kaylee turned her eyes had softened to a pretty pool of cerulean again…
"Okay, I need to get home… sorry for yelling at everyone…" She said and grabbed Grim gently by the wrist as she tugged him along after her… She was being very gentle with him almost like one would with a small child before she sighed and walked ahead humming a soft song with simple lyrics… Grim looked at her and gave a soft smile. Tomoyo and Snel gave each other knowing glances followed by smirks and kept quiet… Soon they all arrived at the HQ and walked into the doors…
