This blog is solely for the clarification of the ambiguities of slang. I have a firm grasp on this language so ask me for help.
"'Sup"
Sup is a verb which is used as a substitute for eat. However, the infinitive of sup is 'to sup upon' rather than 'to sup.' This is unusually used as a greeting however. Perhaps because it's comedic to use "eat" to say "hello". That's my theory anyway.
"Chill"
Chill is ironically used as an abbreviation for chilli. This is quite clever since chilli has connatations of hot contrasting with chill (cold). Chill is a satirical remark to somebody's anger. People are generally 'hot' when angry and chill is thrown at them. They are really saying 'chilli' but chill is an ironic word to describe somebody who is 'red hot'.
"Bro"
Bro is an abbreviation of broth. I don't really understand this at all. Somebody please clarify this.
"Chick"
A chick is used to describe the off-spring of a chicken. When somebody else is called this, they generally are being insulted. By calling somebody a chick, you imply their parents are chickens.
"Bird"
This is an abbreviation of birdie. A birdie is 1 under par in golf. So in context, you would say "I was lucky to nab a bird yesterday" and they may ask "Who?" What they are referring to is the hole number so you would say "I got my bird at her 18th." (her referring to the golf course).
"Flibberty"
Since anyone can invent slang, I did. A flibberty is a false liberty. A freedom which appears to exist but actually doesn't. Most notably is the flibberty of speech since we are limited to what we can say. Another flibberty is that we are forced to work (or we die).
