Friends are great. They can comfort you and help you out through tough times. They can loan you money and take the blame for what you do. It's no wonder that most people want friends. But how can you make friends? Read on to learn the secret.

Friends can be made anywhere. From school and workplace to clubs and playgrounds, potential friends are absolutely everywhere.

Not all potential friends make good friends which is why you should always look for qualities you like in them. This is where your observation skills come in.

When making a new friend I always keep my eyes open for soft and lightweight materials such as silk and cotton. They're nice to touch and are pleasent to hug. They're also very easy to sew into cute teddy bear friends and various other stuffed animal friends. In some cases though, it's okay to settle for other types of friends like a chair friend or a sink friend, but they're usually harder to build.

Not all people are satisfied with inanimate friends. That's when you try to make actual living friends. People often say they want kind and loyal friends. I find dogs fill this role excellently. Cats and birds are okay too, and even some plants make great friends.

If you have trouble making chair friends or plant friends, then there's always the option to go with imaginary friends. Nearly everyone can make them. And even if you lack the creativity to make one, you could always just lie about it to the people who ask who you're talking to when sitting alone in the dark.

A problem I run into a lot is friends rebelling and trying to escape. The best way to deal with this is to threaten your special imaginary chair friend. Use fear to control them. That's what a true friend does. Who just lets friends leave them to live a life of loneliness?

Fire is great for striking fear into friends. I promise you'll scare someone when threatening to set your teddy bear on fire for trying to leave you.
