This user is an amazing artist. He drew my avatar picture for me. I chose him to get to know the user and Chatmod behind the stylus. Here is my interview with:
EpicArtifex
CrymsonLiynn: How did you find DSiPaint?
EpicArtifex: I literally just Googled "DSi Paint" in search of some online painting app.
CrymsonLiynn: Was this your first account?
EpicArtifex: Yup. And this is also my general username on sites and stuff, so as a general rule, if you see an EpicArtifex, it's almost definitely me.
CrymsonLiynn: How did you choose the name EpicArtifex?
EpicArtifex: 'Artifex' is latin for 'artist.' Originally it was for a gamertag, but I literally never use Xbox live. Anyway, the name stuck, so now I use it quite a lot.
CrymsonLiynn: What is your favorite thing to do here?
EpicArtifex: My favourite things are the chats and the blogs. I don't use the Paint app as much as I'd like, since I can never get the touchscreen calibration quite right. ¬_¬
CrymsonLiynn: Anything you'd wanna see changed?
EpicArtifex: One thing which kinda bugged me a bit since the very beginning, but is kinda trivial, is the lack of a 'back' button on blogs to get back to the blog menu. o-o
I mean, yeah, you can always just go 'back,' but maybe you deleted your history for whatever reason, or maybe you commented on the blog and you want to be careful that you don't accidentally repost your comment.
CrymsonLiynn: Now you. Where do you live?
EpicArtifex: England, relatively near Oxford.
CrymsonLiynn: What do you like most living there?
EpicArtifex: Well there's a couple of shops down the road from my house, which is probably the reason I'm slightly pudgier than would be ideal.

I'm pretty fond of the town I live in. I know the local area relatively well (even though geography of places is not my strong point), I know quite a few of the people, and it's pretty picturesque in most places. It's not too crowded. I went to London once and it was horribly crowded. I couldn't live in a place like that. Plus it's nice and cool, and we get quite a bit of rain here.
CrymsonLiynn: Favorite hobbies and interests?
EpicArtifex: I like coming on here, obviously. Drawing as well, I kinda like painting but I don't do it nearly as often.
CrymsonLiynn: I know you're a talented artist, how did you develop your skills so well?
EpicArtifex: I get this a lot. I'm pretty good, but there are plenty of better people out there.
Anyway, I just practised. The majority of art you don't need a teacher for, you just need to develop the ability to observe real life and to transfer it onto paper.
It's a really good pastime because you don't need much to practise, just some time, a pencil and a scrap of paper. Obviously if you get really into it then you might want to start buying some more advanced equipment and stuff, but the practising is easy and cheap.
CrymsonLiynn: What grade are you in?
EpicArtifex: We have a different grade system over here. I'm in Year 12, first year of 6th form. You probably have no idea what that is in terms of your grading system.
It's OK. Neither do I.
CrymsonLiynn: Do you have a favorite subject?
EpicArtifex: I like art as a subject, but it's difficult because of the tremendous workload. It's not just about the quality of art, it's the raw quantity as well.
I also like philosophy. I'm a natural at that, but my teacher is very stubborn and competitive, which is irritating.
CrymsonLiynn: What else would you like to tell everyone about yourself?
EpicArtifex: Uh. I like cheesecake? Or am I overdoing that? o-o
CrymsonLiynn: Thanks Thomas, for an excellent interview. 33
EpicArtifex: No problemo, thanks for the interview.
Really? Your art class takes that much work? I thought that arts supposed to be about self-expression, a way of depicting feelings so that other people can experience them.
