That Sexy New Windows 8
Windows 8 is here! For those who haven't seen the sexyness yet, I bring you some screenshots, and a bit of text.
Windows 8 is available on ARM tablets as well as laptops and desktops, and the new UI (NO, it's NOT called Metro. That's what the design language is called) is designed for touchscreens.
Vintage guys will be relieved that the old classic UI used in previous versions of Windows is still available. But who wants that.

Sexy Start Screen

Ooh. Sexy tiles. Like Windows Phone 7, if you've heard of it.

Files. Videos. Music. Documents. Homework.

Windows Explorer, that app which shows you all your files and lets you delete them, copy them, and move them, has been renamed File Explorer. Why, I don't know.

Internet Explorer 10: A new Windows, a new browser.

Internet Explorer 10. Now with more HTML5, CSS3, open standards and less ActiveX, Java, and closed standards in the Metro Modern UI. Yet still with a stripped-down version of Adobe Flash. For those non-open sites. I'm looking at you, over-flashy sites. (See what I did there?)

Blue Screen Of Death Enlightenment/Hell

Windows 8 BSOD stops you sitting there going "OMG THE PC'S BROKE THAT'S GONNA COST 200 BUCKS AND I'M BROKE OMGOMGOMG *BLEEP*".

I was in the mountains in Portugal using a Portuguese Vodafone 3G dongle. In the UK I had a 10Mbps Virgin Media Broadband connection in a city.

TO CONTINUE THE BLOG:

..."OMG THE PC'S BROKE THAT'S GONNA COST 200 BUCKS AND I'M BROKE OMGOMGOMG *BLEEP*" and instead makes you think calmly and to call Tech Support Geek jsa005 ( ) to ask for help.
I haven't tried Windows 8 yet, partly because I haven't had the time, and partly because I haven't had a solid internet connection for a long time (why I haven't been on much as you should know) and when I do have one the speed is barely 1Mbps. Snail speed. And the 1Mbps only lasted for 1GB before throttling occurs. 'Nuff said 'bout that though.
