Ermahgerd, he's alerv! Hi guys, it's been a while since I've been around the site. I'm doing great, just having fun with school and work.

Just to go ahead and throw this out there, G/net is gone and I'm not reviving it. I've stopped doing a lot of web development earlier this year to focus on other things. I did make a playlist radio website (Sortof like Reddit Playlister, but more community oriented), but it ultimately got lost in the bowels of a hard drive failure. It was also interesting to see DSiTabs get mentioned in one of Hullbreach's blogs. I remember Hull and I trying to link the two sites together. Didn't really work out, but it was fun trying to.

Anyway, I wanted to share with you guys my favorite music of this year (and a little of last).

10. Attack Attack! - This Means War



Yeah yeah, I do like Attack Attack. I mean come on, the Interlude dance is the greatest thing ever made even if it's not something they intended to make. Are they great? Their last album wasn't all that great, but some of their stuff was great even with Austin Carlile. This album, though, is pretty good. It's got some really awesome songs and it flows together really well.

9. Of Mice & Men - The Flood



Speaking of Austin Carlile, The Flood is a really good album. Granted it's not exactly a 2012 release, they had a re-release of the album back in July. It's a good album and I think you should at least give it a listen, especially OG Loko.

8. Lamb of God - Resolution



I'm not exactly a Lamb of God fan, but this was a really good album. The growling and the composition is just awesome. I have issue with it: The drums sound programmed. Insurrection is one of the best songs on the album by the way.

7. Asking Alexandria - Reckless & Relentless



Two things that are wrong about this:

a.) I know that's the wrong album art. The album art on the album is a little suggestive and I'm not risking posting it on here.

b.) I know this is an album from last year, but I didn't find out about it until this year.

Now that is out of the way, this is a great album. Coming from their first album in 2009, they did a great job.

6. For Today - Immortal



I better run for the hills for this one. It's a Christian Metal-Core band! Here's the awesome thing: They're great. Yeah it's really christian, but so am I. Foundation is the best song on the album.

5. Veil of Maya - Eclipse



Alright, I'll just go ahead and say I have no reason to like this album except just to say it's awesome. That's all I can say. Go listen to it.

4. We Came As Romans - Understanding What We've Grown to Be



Once again, this is an album from 2011, but I just recently got into the band. It combines clean and growling vocals really well, and the lyrics are really good too. If anything, Everything As I Planned is my favorite song on the album.

3. As I Lay Dying - Awakened



Instead of saying anything about this album, here's a few songs from it that just make it one of the best albums this year:

Greater Foundation
Defender
Overcome
No Lungs to Breathe

2. Rush - Clockwork Angels



Alright kiddos, time to listen up. This is Rush. Rush is quite possibly one of the best bands in the world. Why? Because they have been around for a looooong time. They've put out great songs such as: Tom Sawyer, Distant Early Warning, Red Barchetta, Limelight, Fly By Night (It's in the new Volkswagen commercial by the way), Closer to the Heart, Spirt of the Radio, 2112, Jacob's Ladder, Subdivisions, Anthem, Freewill, etc. I could go on and on and on of the great songs Rush has put out there. Even Regular Show creator J.G. Quintel loves Rush and has even tried to put their music into the show, even though they are just covers of them.

Clockwork Angels is my first bought album from Rush. Not because I "pirated" their old music, but because this is the first album that I have bought. Their old music was given to me by my dad and being able to buy one of their albums for the first time felt great. For the album itself, it's just great and I can't say anything else because it's that good. Caravan, Headlong Flight, The Wreckers, The Anarchist, BU2B, and Clockwork Angels are amazing songs.

1. Periphery - Periphery II: This Time it's Personal



All hail the masters of Djent! Periphery has become one of my favorite bands recently. I really enjoyed their 2010 album, but Sponce's vocals were a bit... Out of place. Nonetheless, the instrumentation on the album was amazing. Their new album this year? Blows everything that made the first album bad away and makes it's my number one album of 2012. Ranging from both the lyrics and composition, it's just amazing. The best songs on the album are Luck as a Constant, Ragnarok, Make Total Destroy, and Erised. The album is so great, that I can listen to the whole album without saying I dislike any of the songs. It's a masterpiece for them.
