Heya! I've just updated JSAmap to use Leaflet (http://leafletjs.com), an open-source mapping API, to display the maps.
If you don't know what JSAmap is, it's a mapping application you can use on the DSi and 3DS via the browser. It was creatd since Google Maps doesn't work, and DSiMap is slow and clunky. JSAmap started off using an embedded Google Map (using the Google Maps API v2). Later, a prototype to use the Google Mps API v3 was created, but failed since it consumed too much memory on the DSi. I searched for a long while, and finally found Leaflet. Leaflet's a lot less memory-consuming, which means less out of memory errors. Back to JSAmap, currently the map style (the map image itself) is ugly from my point of view, but I hope to update it soon. Now I'm using map data from OpenStreetMap and imagery from CloudMade (the creator of Leaflet). Tell me what you think, as by the time you read this, it should be live. The JSAmap bar (where you type the location while using the app) is coming very soon, it may even be ready now! I hope you enjoy my new update, I don't have anything else to say, except if you haven't seen JSAmap yet, check it out at http://jsa005.x10.mx/dsmap, and bye!
