Gameplay Expectations

Well, as this is the most compelling reason to play the game, I believe it is the most important area and needs to be done well.

For starters, methinks that most of us desire to go questing / goofing off with a few other people at once (say, 3 or 4 total?), a lá the Mt. Hildar demo on DSiPaint. Thus, I think it needs to be an area of focus, making sure that's implemented early. Ideally, this would be available on launch, but I suppose the likelihood of that depends on how questing works, i.e. can it be done in the main story or in some separate, quest-specific mode?


Another thing from Mt. Hildar that'd be nice to see would be in-quest / in-battle chatting, though things could get a little dicey in the database in regards to size pretty quickly.

Allowing those remaining to continue on if a party member drops out unexpectedly or has to leave would be REALLY swell. :3

Allow for 3v3/4v4 PvP. Would be quite fun. Heck, allowing people to schedule matches would be cool, though I suppose groups can handle that independently.


Will we get badges after certain milestones? ....we better....

Though this would certainly take quite some time to implement - if it's even feasible - letting users set up quests to be completed by others would be, I must say, pretty neat-o.

Community Expectations

Will there be a community marketplace? Will users be able to set up their own shop? Are Savii Points/Bucks going to be the in-game currency (Skunk's Shop would seem to indicate this)?

In regards to the latter, it would certainly need to be limited (per user), moderated or both.

Perhaps users could simply put up some things for sale or trade?
I kind of like that idea better. It negates the need to limit users' activities and greatly lessens the need for moderation in the process, since they can't open tons of shops and won't clog up any kind of moderation queue with requests to open their 1337th shop for their "Awsum warez!", and it would automatically disappear from the list when they had no more items up for sale or trade or when they removed it.

I see it working and looking something like this:

[Item Name] - [Item Price / Is up for Trade]

*and so on*

Integrate Groups into TMJ (as that was their original intention if I remember correctly), but rename it to "Clans" or "Guilds" perhaps. There could be some sort of guild area, where Guild members can either store items for safekeeping, or store them so that other Guild members can get them.

Guilds could have a newsboard / newsletter of sorts as well, containing important information. There could also be some form that could be used to properly organize some kind of official competition between Guilds, and part of the form would allow you to specify the length of how long the competition will last.

And finally, there could be a leaderboard for these Clans/Guilds, though I'm not sure how ranking would be determined.

Miscellaneous

-Allow users to watch previously viewed cutscenes (props to EpicArtifex for them)

-No Waffle King

-Use a JavaScript confirm box to.... confirm that certain actions were intended, such as fleeing from battle or putting items in the publicly-accessible Guild storage area. Will cut down on unintended actions.
