My second tips and tricks guide! Today, I'll be helping you guys with Kid Icarus: Uprising. This is a third person shooter which is very different from the shooters in today's market. In addition to the hints, I'll give you guys some interesting movesets you'll want to try out for yourself.
General:
-Higher intensities mean more rewards obviously. But what you didn't know is that offerings actually do something. As Palutena or Viridi gets closer to you, the higher your weapon values will be. So if you're playing on Intensity 2, your loot could be Intensity 3.
-DODGE! RUN! SHOOT! The 3 mechanics in Uprising. Dodge all the time. If there's a shot that you know won't hit you, dodge it. The shots in this game have some pretty weird powers. Run. Never run in a straight line. Ever. Not down hallways, not down fields, not down anything. You'll get shot. Shoot. Shooting while dodging, an good strategy on retrospect, but doesn't really have much accuracy. I'm better off with forward dash shots and such.
-Here's two things that are completely useless! If you poke the Intensity Pot's face numerous times, it gets annoyed and turns away. Rejected, my friend. Also, if you die in story mode, when the pot spills, click down. Its a surprise you'll have to find for yourself.
-Witty Banter. Don't get distracted by it. I'm fighting a boss, and suddenly Palutena tells me a joke, I burst out laughing, then die.
-The pictures on the bottom screen. Don't look down. No matter how sexy Phosphora or Amazon Pandora is (If you're in to that stuff), DO NOT GET DISTRACTED.
-Weapon values are nothing in story mode. NOTHING. Your value 300-gazillion weapon has no difference to the same weapon with a value of 4. Unless, of course, you add in the abilities.
-The stand. I don't use it, as it hurts my hand, but if you like it, try it. I recommend the stand for Theatrhythm.
Story Mode and Boss Battle:
-Flying battles depend on your ability to dodge and shoot. At the same time. Like chewing gum and walking, but harder. If you move the Circle Pad one way, then quickly change direction, you execute an air dodge. Not much to it, but it looks cool. Also, in the air, clubs have continuous fire.
-When you kill Treasurefish in the air, you get a gun type thing called Happy Trigger. If you don't know what it does, I'll tell you. It instantly charges your shots up, for better attacking.
-Ground Battles. Not much to them. The boss battles require no strategy at all. Just keep shooting. Never take your handy-dandy club to Chapter 4. Ever.
-Another tip. When you're in the Chaos Vortex and the Lightning Battle levels, bring a snack to eat. And watch out for those Komayto-Metroid references. Viridi. Will. Get. You.
-Conserve your health in Boss Mode. Take Health Recovery and Pices Heal. First, when you're running low, use Health Recovery. After you're finished with your Health Recovers use Pices Heal. This'll put your health way up if you take a hit from a powerful move while it's in effect. Then start using the Drink of the Gods.
Multiplayer:
-Free-For-All is basically fantasy-land Uncharted 2 online. Things blow up. People die. Losers raigequit. Don't expect to get first place.
-Light vs Dark is a game those nuts play on Skyloft. Your team has a shared health bar. Your bar goes down when you die. The higher value your weapon is, the more the bar gets diminished. Watch out for people who spam Mega Laser and Meteor Shower when the game starts. That reminds me, the announcer has a sexy voice.
-When you become Pittypat or Pittoey, you have more health, a good weapon, and awesomeness. Everyone on the opposing side will know where you are, so don't bother camping. Instead, just keep moving. Kill all who defy you!
Weapons:
-Bows. Slow, high accuracy, awesome homing, medium-long range.
-Staffs. High range, long range, suckish melee, long charge time, no homing.
-Clubs. No continous fire, powerful shots, long range.
-Cannon. Ehh. Bad accuracy, big explosions, powerful, long charge time.
-Arms. Good melee, short range, bad damage.
-Blades. Balanced, but a little on the melee side.
Moveset One: Offensive:
Weapon: Magnus Club
Summary: Fast charge time, but no ranged attacks whatsoever. Very powerful. Very fast. 1HKO
To me, weapon values tend to matter. I dont even need healing abilities when I have 305v claws. i just shoot anything that moves and i get by pretty well, lol
