Hello everyone! Today I bring you JSiVi news. First, let's start with a bug fix: from the 14th to early on the 16th (GMT), the menu was unusable on DSis, along with Shout and profiles. This is because I use the jQuery JavaScript library, which makes my work a lot easier. The latest update to jQuery (1.9.0) didn't work on DSis, though. I have now switched to jQuery 1.9.3. I previously used jQuery's hosted copy which is always the latest. The switch back to 1.8.3 has restored the lost functionality. I am currently downgrading profiles, but they were a low priority since they functioned without jQuery, whereas the menu and Shout were useless.
Now, onto what you came here to read about: JSiVi's meme generator! You may have used Cheezburger.com or memegenerator.net, a popular meme sharing site with a generator. The JSiVi meme generator will be similar to the ones of those sites. You will be able to choose from a variety of popular memes, and then add text to the top and bottom. Does that sound good? There's more. Your image will be submitted to Cheezburger.com, since we are using their site to host your pictures (due to legal and capacity reasons) to show on JSiVi. So your meme might becme famouss on Cheezburger.com! Here is everything you need to know:
-Images will have the text "JSiVi.uni.me" (without quotes) in the bottom-left corner, since we want to refer users to our site. I Can Has Cheezburger adds a huge banner to the bottom, whereas ours is in a small font. Which do you prefer?
-At some point you might be able to upload your own images for use in your memes, although you will have to upload them each time for each meme, as we won't store the plain images.
-Images will be submitted to Cheezburger.com as Anonymous.
