Hello people, jsa005 (from JSiVi and Eye3DS) here with some news oon Eye3DS. Yes, finally some plns are being made to revive Eye3DS. Now, first, I'd like to tell you what happened.
Why Eye3DS went Eye3DS was on a free VPS (Virtual Private Server) from Host1Free. It was all going well, until one day, bam. Your account has been suspended.. It turns out that it doesn't mean suspended, though. Host1Free thinks Suspended = Terminated. Our VPS was terminated. Bye bye VPS. This also meant something horrible: bye bye Eye3DS code. Months on end of work from me, Liilwayne1556 and other devs lost. Thank you very much Host1Free. Goodbye. We're never using you again. That concludes that.
Now, here is what's been thought of so far for the revival:
Collaboration with JSiVi We hope to basically make Eye3DS a 3DS version of JSiVi. But not just that. Eye will have a completely different style, similar to that of the old Eye, along with 3DS-specifiic features, such as possibly a (3D) photo gallery and editing tools.
Bugs ironed out The old Eye3DS had quite a few bugs that went un-noticed. We aim to fix that by checking error logs regularly.
Now here's the release plan concept:
Developer Alpha This will be the core codebase release, basically the login, register, profile and news system.
Only Eye3DS/JSiVi developers will have access to this.
Closed Beta This will have a few more features, such as chat, mail and blogs.
Only invited people (as well as Eye3DS/JSiVi developers who do the inviting) will have access to this.
Open Beta This will have more things like searching, Maps and other cool features. By this point we aim to have the CSS (styling) done.
Everyone will have access to this.
Release This will be the version which has everything.
I have run out of space. If you're bored right now check out JSiVi. See ya!
Apparently we had multiple VPSes (you can only have 1 per person), and Wayne had 1 and I had 1, but they thought we were the same person as I logged in to Wayne's VPS (the Eye3DS one).
