Darkness. That was all Melissa knew. Darkness. Why? No one knew. All they knew was that a poor three year old had went blind inside of her mother. "Mommy, why am I blind?" She would ask. "No one knows....." Her mother would reply. "Maybe one day you will be able to see....." Her mom would smile.
She was three then. Fifteen years later, she wasn't planning on moving out anytime soon, and she was blind folded. "How are you doing, Melissa?" Her mom says in an old, sweet tone. "Just fine." Melissa walked to her room, feeling her way around.
That night, blackness. But then, a small field started forming. There were trees surrounding the field, and a dark figure was in the distance. Judging by the shape, the figure was wearing robes and wore a hood over it's head.
Blackness. "Melissa, are you awake? I'm going to bed now." Melissa groaned. "You woke me up, momma." Melissa's mom ran her fingers through Melissa's hair. "Sorry. I'll go off to bed now." Footsteps faded as Melissa's mother walked to bed.
All went white. White? Melissa felt water falling on her face. "Wake up, Masuka. Do you remember me? Surely you know your own name..... I'm Mayonica." Melissa noticed that the blindfold was gone. When she opened her eyes, she could see!
