(Part 3) What!? You've got to be kidding. The Boogie Man? Really? Melanie looked at him strangely. There is no way he can be serious. She then remembered her window. She hadn't closed it. This guy was just some creep in a costume that climbed through her window. Busted! "Yeah right, who are you really?" she questioned him. He gave her an amused smirk. "My name is Darkain Boegrie. You mortals have come to know me as the Boogie Man. And, before you ask or claim anything, I am indeed real." She scrunched her eyebrows, confused and just slightly weirded out. "Prove it." she demanded. His hands curled into fists and he scoffed "Fine, if you wish for more proof." He then lifted his hand, his palm facing towards the ceiling. Suddenly, a ball of purple fire burst to life above his palm, shadowing half of his face, making him seem more menacing and mysterious, yet darkly handsome as well. He smirked playfully and snapped his fingers, the fire immediately fizzling away. No way! How did he do that? More importantly, what the heck was he doing in her room? "I suppose that you are wondering as of why I am here." he said calmly. "Well princess, I'm here to warn you. And as much as I would enjoy learning more of why you seem to be fascinated by fairy-tale men, it is urgent that you listen." Wait. What does he mean by 'warn her'. She took a step away from him. "I'm sure that you have noticed to local some disappearances. All being female." What did he mean? Is he talking about Gretelle and the other girls? Melanie was confused and a bit scared. What did he know about them? "As of late, girls in your small town have gone missing. All of them being the ages of 16 to 18. Also, if you haven't noticed, you are of the remaining few. Not that there was much to begin with." he stated cooly. "There is a dangerous group of immortals that have been abducting these girls without a trace of evidence. Sadly, none of the girls have turned up, alive or other wise. You and a handful of others are to be put under protective custody in the Underworld until the culprits are restrained." The Underworld? What did he mean? What is with this guy? First he pops up in her room, claims he's the Boogie Man, and now he was saying she needed to go to the Underworld? Yeah, fat chance that's gonna happen. "It would be in your best interest that you leave soon, tnat is, unless you wish to have the same fate as the others." He stared at her worried eyes. Her hands shook from anxiety and her heart thudded against her chest. This can't be real. Stuff like this didn't happen to normal girls. Was this all a dream? It had to be. "What if I don't trust you?" she asked. She crossed her arns defiantly. He chuckle and shrugged. "Demon's honor?" he questioned, putting his right hand over his heart and the other in the air. So, he's a demon? The Boogie Man was a demon? Well, that would explain the whole purple fire thing and the fact that he's been around for hundreds of years, scaring the socks off of little kids. Really? Who wouldn't freak out after finding some guy under your bed or in your closet? "I still wouldn't trust you." she said sternly. He sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose. "Suit yourself princess. But, don't say I didn't warn you. These immortals are highly dangerous and very clever. If you're not careful, you can end up like the missing girls. Heed my warning." he replied. Suddenly, a cloud of dark purple cloud engulfed his body and disappeared. Where did he go? How did he go? Why so many questions? Melanie sank to the floor and scrubbed her face with her hands. Her once pale skin was now red and flustered. Tears threatened to spill from her frightened eyes. This was too unreal. Why her? Why couldn't it be someone else or somewhere else? Atleast, she wasn't the only one. She took in a shaky breath and got up from the floor. She closed her window and locked it tightly. Grabbing her toy wolf, she crawled into her bed and under her sheets. She calmed herself down and prayed for sleep to take her mind over as soon as possible. Luckily, her consciousness began to fade off into sleep. She knew something was going on in town but never imagined it to be something like this. It was all so weird. Something was up and it wasn't good. Something dangerous and odd. Something Strange.
