Hey there, people of DSiPaint. I've had a breakthrough on Hatenagain, involving the .ugo format. I believe the .ugo format uses UTF-16 for text, explaining the null byte after every character. (http://jsafive.x10.mx/stuff/hatena/encoding.php) I have also found someone else who is reverse-engineering Flipnote Hatena, namely locozenos@----.--- (he is not on DSiPaint, email cut for his privacy). Plus some more on the host situation: I have two offers to host Hatenagain! One is from locozenos, and the other is from Daniel Gump (DSiPaint username: HullBreach, hehehe). Any more offers will be welcomed. Requirements:
PHP, Python, BIND, static IP address, shell access, BIND config access, and lots of storage space for Flipnotes (10GB at least, I will find another solution at some point). In other news, I am looking for beta testers for when Hatenagain is at a usable stage. Testers will get access to Hatenagain before the general public, and will be able to test new features first even after the public release of Hatenagain. Testers will also get a Platinum Star.
Also, the Hatenagain Star system will be different from the Hatena Color Star system. There will be no unlimited stars, but there will be a +1/-1 Flipnote rating system for Flipnotes you like/dislike. Copper stars are your basic currency, used for buying themes (only by HatenaDevs initially), sprites, fonts etc. from creators, and are earned by selling sprites and fonts and getting likes on your Flipnotes. You get 20 copper stars for every 10 likes you get, and you also get a copper star for every Flipnote you post. Silver stars are gained by being given them by other members, or by logging in every week (the week starts on Monday, if you login more than once in that week you don't get more stars). I've got 5 characters left, so ciao! ~jsafive
