Are you whacking away at Wak-A-Skunk but the fruits of your laborious tapping is just not showing up?
Well, in this guide I'll show you how to conquer Wak-A-Skunk and get the badge.
The first point I would like to make is how to actually play the game. For newbs this can be quite confusing because Wak-A-Skunk is lacking instructions. You might be sitting there, scratching your head and thinking: Wha-?
(At least, that's what I was doing.)
There's little heads popping out of the holes and they don't look like skunks to me!
The first thing you'll probably do is whack the hammer at everything that comes out of the pixely ground, but that my friends, is not how you play the game.
The objective of the game is to hit Skunkman with your hammer as many times as you can. The more whacks the more points. Skunkman is the guy in the green shirt that's on the top screen when you open the game. So when his little head pops up, tap it and whack it! (I like to pretend that I am Thor when I perform this task. Hammer time!!1!)
You gain 5 points for every time you hit Skunkman and you lose 2 points when you hit a different character.
You DO NOT want to hit the other heads that come out. You have 3 tries in the game, and each time you hit someone other than Skunkman, you lose a try.
Now let's talk about the other heads. The other heads belong to a baby, a lady and a man. The man is HullBreach (Who is HullBreach you ask? Well...don't ask.) The lady is HullBreach's wife (SavantInamorata) and the baby is...a baby.
Now how do you earn that badge? It's a daunting quest, but you must earn over 500 points at game's end to earn the badge.
It's going to take a lot of patience and a lot of tapping, so here are some tips and notes to keep in mind so you can get through to the end:
•As you earn more points, the speed of the bobbing heads get faster and the tapping gets harder. (But remember, when the going gets tough, the tough get going.)
•When you're over 400 points, it's best to stay stationary over one hole and focus on one area (I recommend the middle), so that you don't have to tap all over the place to get just one decent whack.
•While tapping ferociously, you might mistake HullBreach's head for Skunkman's head (because they have similar hair colors). Make sure to do a split-second rampage pause and check to see what you're clicking. You probably won't make the same mistake on the lady and baby too often, but you should always check before you whack.
•If you decide to get up in the middle of your game and leave while it's still going you will not get penalized. It will continue its course until you start a-tapping or until the battery dies.
•To ensure that you don't have miss-taps or accidently stab a hole through your screen; make sure you are relaxed. You may get excited when you reach a certain point in gameplay (most likely when you're close to completing a goal) but if you get tense, or if you're playing while thousands of distractions are rolling on by, it's going to be harder to concentrate and ultimately harder to play.
•You need time and patience (and LOTS of it).
Now that you know most of what I know you'll probably be successful in snagging that badge, but what do you do after? Is Wak-A-Skunk a pile of useless trash after you've finally surpassed 500 points? Not so, not so. You see, now you're goal is to get on the leaderboard and get to the very tippy-top of it. Does that sound simple enough? Because, it's not, it's actually very, very hard.
Finally, let's talk about gameplay and such. Obviously the graphics aren't phenomenal compared to the high-tech crap that's being dished out these days, but it's one of the best looking DSi browser compatible games that I have played! There are minor bugs (I will list them later), but most of them can't be helped.
Here are some of the bugs:
•Sometimes the screen scrolls when you try to tap, causing you to miss a couple of whacking opportunities. This may be a touchscreen related problem, but I wonder if you can put some sort of scroll-lock on these things?
•Sometimes when you tap, it doesn't pick it up (this problem obviously can't be helped since it is most-definitely a touchscreen bug), but sometimes those small tap mishaps can help! If you try to click on someone other than Skunkman an off-tap can save you from losing precious points!
Welp, now I have told you everything I know. Hopefully this will help all you newbs with this addicting game.
I apologize for any incorrect information (please correct me, if you will).
