On that day, we were reminded
why we lived life so closed-minded
the tears in my eyes caused me to be blinded
by the rage I felt as time rewinded.
I watched them fall before my eyes
while the soldiers around me spouted lies
I could hear the desperate cries
and the things I thought were not so wise.
I seeked revenge for what they had done
as the clouds above me blocked the sun
the people around me wanted to run
but I would not give up until humanity won.
Walls are strong but won't protect you forever
for nature is strong too, and much more clever
they promised to stay with me, we would not sever
but those who made the laws didn't care whatsoever.
If I couldn't prove myself I would be sent home
but with that destroyed, I would just have to roam
exactly what I would do was still unknown
so I had to keep trying-- I wouldn't let my chance be blown.
I managed to succeed, but the walls were still falling
I swear I could hear my father calling
whatever I dreamed about was appalling
but I had to keep faith, we had to keep brawling.
Grim reminders of our past
we thought these walls were built to last
but that all changed so very fast
and now we know that we're outclassed.
