NOTE: This is for the poetry contest, and also, the titles is because this is one of my many nameless poems, so i want them to be able to be called by a naem. Thus creating a lame and terrible title. That aside, here is Unusual Meeting.
She stopped running,
leaning on a tree,
ears perk up,
bushes rustled by a breeze.
Freezing,
Panting,
Wary of pursuit.
She looks around her,
ready to boot.
One
Two
Three pants leak out,
then out of the bush
appears a snout.
SHe relaxed,
It wasn't pursuit,
then she noticed-
The Growl
The Scowl
The Bared Teeth aimed at her.
She froze,
unbreathing,
'til she could hold her breath no more.
A final growl,
A ray of graay,
black lining the top.
The wolf leaped,
The girl squeaked,
as she was pionned to the ground.
A thought occurred,
before she stirred,
she would no longer be pursued.
Bitten,
Scratched,
Torn apart,
Yet she did not move,
She was relieved at heart.
Pain,
Blood,
Sticky Warmth,
Eye to eye,
Wolf and girl.
Then it spoke,
her throat exposed.
"Why don't you fight,
Complain,
struggle for life?
you just sit,
weakly smiling,
though you're obviously hurt."
The girl blinked,
Once
Twice
Three times.
The wolf spoke,
was inner fear,
tricking her ears?
"Speak,
Answer,
I smell her upon you."
"OH,
SOrry,
I was shocked...
I didn't expect yout o talk.
as for why i stay still,
'tis a sad deal,
I don't have the strength,
to end the chase,
It hurts,
It burns,
But it's sickly sweet,
The chase is over,
for the Goal shall die."
The girl closed her eyes,
expecting a final bite.
But no.
SHe was released,
teh wolf rushed off,
then came back,
leave in it's jaws.
Leaves turned to pulp,
soothing many wounds.
The girl opened her eyes,
squeaking out a weak
"why?"
but the only response,
was ointment for her wounds.
