Cost of a life

He was born living the life
He was mom's favorite son
He had a very great wife
But really? What has he done?

Had everything handed to him
He did nothing to help out
He was born to go and sin
He was made to drink and shout

Drinking in the bar at night
Sleeping in the car at night
Looking at the star at night
Looking to get in a fight

Driving with one eye open
And a beer between his pants
Crashed, now his life was broken
But he was given another chance

He never learned his lesson
But one day it would cost
A stone that reads, "rest in..."
Pretty sure you know what's lost

He would drink a lot of beer
Now he thought he could dunk
He said he had no fear
Said it when he was drunk

Drove when he had more than one drink
