He rubs the back of his neck and realizes he has a barcode tattoed on him. His overalls were replaced with orange pants and a shirt that read Apeture Science.
Mario: "Apeture?"
As Mario's vision comes back into focus, he relizes he is barricaded in a see-through box. He touches the surface of the walls.
[color=red]Mario: "Glass..."
He surveys the room. It consists of a toilet, sink, bed, and a chute supposedly for food. He looks up to discover he is being watched by a surveillance cam. He notices the box has no roof.
Mario: "I could jump this easily..."
Hup! The famed plumber leaps over the box and lands outside of it. He spots a door to the side of him.
Mario: "Cryrogeneration Chambers? This must not be Mushroom Kingdom anymore..."
He walks through the door to see lines upon lines of chambers. One is lit up. Mario walks up to it and sees a girl.
Mario: "Another human!"
Mario whips out his Hammer and shatters the glass. He picks up the woman and sets her on the ground. She comes to focus.
Mario: "And who might you be?"
Chell: "My name... Chell. I don't remember anything else. Where are we, and who are you?"
"Mario: I am Mario, Savior of the Mushroom Kingdom, and I have very little knowledge of this place beside of our shirts. Aperture..."
The two decide to venture out of the chambers through a circular door. The intercom in the room speaks in a robotic voice.
???: "Test subjects MARIO and CHELL. We are now ready to begin the test proper."
Mario jumps to his feet.
"Chell: Who are you!?"
"GLaDOS: I am Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operated System, GLaDOS for short. Are we ready to begin the test?"
