So, Flipnote Hatena got closed down. But I got a load of dumps of data, pages, images, Flipnotes and stuff before it closed down, and I shared these with a few other people. Then we all tried to make a Flipnote Hatena replacement server together. We all ended up writing our own ones, sharing info and snippets of code along the way. You may have heard of Austin Burk (Sudofox)'s Sudomemo. Now for my offering. Introducing... jsatena! It's still in development and isn't ready for a public release yet, but I'll put up a demo server soon for you lot to try out.
It will have Flipnote uploading, downloading, creators' rooms, channels, blah blah blah the usual. But there will be a few unique features... log in by simply drawing a Flipnote (any flipnote)... chat with your friends using text or Flipnotes (like Nintendo Letter Box DSi!).. and even more, from the person vital to the whole alternative Hatena world, the creator of nintrigue, JSiVi, NinTube, and many more amazing projects yet to be revealed...
jsatena will be released at least in demo form by the end of March 2014.
Coming soon to your DSi...

I don't think you understand completely. Don't worry. I'll explain. You know they shut down Flipnote Hatena (the bit of Flipnote Studio (which is a free application for the DSi) which lets you share your Flipnotes (animations created with Flipnote Studio) with people on the internet)? With jsatena you will change a setting in your DSi's internet settings which will tell your DSi to connect to jsatena (my replacement for Flipnote Hatena) when you select Flipnote Hatena within Flipnote Studio instead of connecting to the official Flipnote Hatena.
