Alright, well first off, I'm going to start off by saying sorry if this is a little rusty, been a while since I've written a blog.
South Park: The Stick Of Truth, is a RPG (Role Playing Game, y'all probably already know that) based on the raunchy TV show South Park. Crazy, right? Anyways, South Park: The Stick of Truth (TSoT) was developed by Obisidian Entertainment. Published by Ubisoft.
Platforms: PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360
Rating: Rated M for Mature
Price: 60 bucks kids, so start saving up!
Release date: March 4, 2014
Score: 9.6 out of 10 (Personal Rating)
South Park: TSoT follows the story of a new kid (AKA the player) who just moved into South Park with his family. His parents want him to make friends, so he heads on out of the house looking around, when he stumbles soon two kids fighting, and you decide to help one of them, the little gold-headed kid. After you help him, he thanks you and introduces himself to you. You find out his name is Butters, who leads you to Cartman and the band of cohorts. The kids are playing a fantasy game focused on The Stick of Truth. "For whomever controls the stick, controls the universe," Cartman explains after dubbing the new kid "Sir Douchebag."
South Park is already known for its crude humor. Yeah, the video game is no different from the TV show. Which is good, right?!? After you get named that incredible name, you get to choose one of four classes: Fighter, Mage (Kind of like a wizard), a Thief, and lastly, a Jew. Every class has different abilities and different specialties. Players start off with a simple sword, a ranged weapon, and clothing that mimics armor.
Pros About This Game: - 12+ Hours of humorous gaming. I'm not much of a gamer, so it'll take me a while before I finish the game.
- Even though this is not really important, the graphics are pretty drop-dead gorgeous, at least until you get into some weird parts of the game.
- You get to choose whether you want to be on Cartman's side or Kyle's side.
- Yes! You get to customize your character! Sadly, your character is just as quiet as your character on GTA V. I think they should add some high pitched and lower pitched voices like in one of the old SmackDown vs. Raw. I believe was it was 2007?
- It has all of the South Park characters like Al Gore, who you help find Man Bear Pig, etc.
- You get to explore houses from the South Park characters, and around the city.
- They have their own FaceBook on South Park! Anyone you become acquainted with will be your friend. This will help you through out the game.
From what I've experienced, this game is pretty great and didn't have too much problems with the game. Anyways here are the Cons:
- Spellcasting on PlayStation is pretty complicated compared to pretty much every other attack.
- The map does a poor job to help you navigate. It's hard to where you even are most of the time, and it was just annoying I had to pause the game an I had to move over four tabs to get to the map just to see where I was in the game. Believe there should be a easier navigating map like on GTA V.
Yeahh that's about it for the cons. Which is good.
FINAL VERDICT:
Even though this game does have some annoyances, this is a pretty cool game, even though I'm not really a role playing guy. This game is definitely worth to buy in full price.
Recommend?
I do recommend you buy this game if you can. BUT, it did leave me confused on whether I liked this game because I had 0 expectations of it, or it truly is an amazing game.
Now, did you find this review helpful? Doubt that, but if you did, then thumbs up this blog, comment anything you know that I forgot to put in here so others will see different opinions other than mine. Thanks!
Almost forgot the credits! I can't find the exact page anymore, but I got some help from usatoday.com
I would like for you to review it after you beat the game. I never understood writing a review when people have only played a few minutes to an hour or so of the game.
If I were to review a game, I would want to make sure I beat the entire game so I could give a fair and worthwhile review of everything I saw.
