So a few months back a finished watching the philosophical anime Fullmetal Alchemist. The whole show revolves around Equivalent Exchange, which I've come to believe with my whole mind, spirit, and soul. We're basically taught in school that there is a reaction for every action, and that is so with all life. If we want something, we have to be willing to give up something of equal value. If we give something, we will get something. Everything takes work. Nothing is truly free. We all pay somehow in the grand scheme, and that cannot be avoided. What makes me sad is how this generation around scoffs at equivalency. They believe lifes owes them, and consequences are best put off. Like, for example, those spring breakers who were setting cars afire, breaking public property, assaulting, and breaking so many government laws. They basically said "let's live for the now and take back from life." They all took, but will pay. They cannot avoid their destiny. We cannot avoid our destiny. Everything that happens has been planned, and all that we get was decided for how much we'll give.
