Youtube Plans to Acquire Twitch For $1 Billion By Emanuel Cruz
5/19/14 Hey guys, it's me Emanuel Cruz here with more exciting news. Remember how Apple bought Beats Audio for $3.2 billion? Well, YouTube is deciding to acquire Twitch for $1 billion.
The popular game streaming startup, Twitch, was released in 2011. Now, with over one million user onboard every month, Twitch became the center of attention for live stream gaming. Of course YouTube is number one when it comes to online videos, but lacks the usage of live streaming. This could help to package up all the great features of YouTube and Twitch into one great bundle. If completed this would be the biggest acquisition in YouTube history, which was bought by Google in 2006 for $1.65 billion. If all goes well, this popular gaming site could be in Google's hands.
Sources from Variety report that the deal will be a all-cash offer. Now it's to early to know for sure when the deal will be made. In fact, Variety also reported that YouTube expects other regulators to challenge the offer.
With Twitch functionality built into the next-gen consoles like the, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Twitch is becoming a huge part of gaming. Now, gamers could easily record or livestream gameplay anytime with Twitch. Where they can be uploaded and viewed by millions of gamers around the world. If YouTube does buy Twitch, then what will happen to Twitch on Xbox and PlayStation?
Twitch wants to be the greatest platform for watching or streaming live video games, and they strongly believe that Google could help to make that happen. So, what do you guys think? Will Twitch become better with a partnership with Google? Will this partnership take away live game steaming on the next-gen consoles? Will we see a redesigned YouTube with the powerful features of Twitch in the future? Will live-streaming be more reliable on YouTube? Leave your comments down in the comment box below. Thanks guys so much for reading. More blogs coming in the near future. Have a great day and remember..... Always be Awesome!
