The News

Sitting down
foot tapping
heart racing
Standing up
feet pacing
heart pounding
ears ringing
The sound of a car
pulling into the driveway
Stomach churning
palms shaking
Walk with fear
to the front door
Eyes watching
eyes unblinking
eyes stinging with terror
The door finally opens
and the world ends

I was riding my bike on these trails really early in the morning a few weeks ago. I had left the house at about 5am and had been out for a while. It was just starting to get light out and this dude came in sight. His face looked really creepy and pale and with the lighting, almost seemed disfigured. He smiled at me as he rode past and his teeth looked sharp to me. I'm sure he was just a friendly old man on a bike ride but It freaked me out. Sleep deprivation never fails to keep things interesting.

wiggle wiggle in sea
you're scary, but cute as can be
squishy squishy in the water
swish around and do your thing
I'd love to be you
or at least be your pal
well maybe I'll pass.
I wouldn't be friends with a fire
but still, I'm inspired
