Gotta love dat stability
Nintendo have gone and given us the update we've all been waiting for: 9.0.0-12[E/U/J].
Bringing extra stability (if you own a Nintendo system (Wii/DSi and onwards) you gotta love stability), a HOME Menu redesign, HOME Menu screenshots, and the big one, HOME Menu themes. Sadly the aformentioned screenshot function (used by pressing Y+up for a pic of the upper screen and Y+down for the Touch Screen) only works on the HOME Menu, not in the HOME applets (Game Notes, Friend List, Notifications, Internet Browser and Miiverse) and other software, whether downloaded or on a cart. Hopefully the next update will bring that, even though it's redundant for Animal Crossing (unless you want a pic of the bottom screen) and Tomodachi Life. Either way, it's a nice addition, even if it's only useful for showing off your theme.
Other new features include a little balloon that pops up under the Notifications applet icon when you get a new notification (screenshot coming soon), which is quite cute, and a theme shop. This is seperate from the eShop (though you use your eShop funds to pay for the themes), and is accessed through the HOME Menu Settings menu (icon in top left of the Touch Screen)
