Ian looked at each egg carefully. There were no flaws. These were genuine Pokémon eggs, besides the hope that the babies that hatched also had human genes.
Suddenly, a explosion occured in the viewing area. Lots of trainers were killed from the explosion itself, and even more were killed from peices of metal digging into their flesh. Most of the other attendees were severely injured. Several went deaf or blind.
Of the people who were able to walk, see, and hear, they attempted to exit the building. Half of them were hit by falling peices of building and severely injured or killed. Not many made it out uninjured. Ian had managed to secure the eggs and took them to his house.
Later that day, on Pokémon World News, or PWN, there was a report on the explosion. "Earlier today, the PokéCorp building was destroyed by a bomb. Most of the injured people were attending the gene splicing experiment. Apparently, there was success in this. One bomb attacked the presentation, while 4 other bombs went off after the presentation attendees were safely out of the building. Police say that this was likely an attack by Team Rocket," a reporter said. "Later tonight, Mudkip Co. is sued for 'inventing the bomb' used in the attack."
Ian cursed at Mudkip Co. under his breath. If it weren't for them, the experiment would of gone uninterupted. Not that PWN was reliable anyway.
The next day, Ian picked up a copy of Pokémon Daily. The front page news was about the attack. The headline said, "AN ESTIMATED THOUSAND KILLED AT POKÉCORP BOMBING, HUNDREDS MORE IN THE HOSPITAL." He flipped right to the job openings page. Normally, he would read all the other juicy stuff first, but hey, he had no job anymore. Nothing intrested him. Ian decided to go back to being a full-time trainer until the PokéCorp building was rebuilt.
Meanwhile, a new plot was at birth. One that would destroy hundreds of cities.
Team Rocket was going to bomb the nuclear power plant.
