Goodbye is a book I`m writing-trying to write- and I`ll first tell you about it, then give you the first chapter. Goodbye is about a girl, Sage, who has a horrifying past, as well as some very unfortunate experiences throughout the book. She is a sixteen year old girl, who loves music, and clothes, and having a good time... sounds like a normal teen, doesn`t she? No. She has so many thoughts and feelings that are destroying her emotionally, even behind the biggest smile. She fears for her own life, why? You`ll have to read find out. One spoiler I will give out is that nobody will be happy with the end of my book, BUT, there will be a sequal. So here goes the first chapter.
I awaken to the faint sound of the doorbell, followed by knocking at the front door. I check my clock, which reads 2:03 a.m. Who could be here so early in the morning? I hear my mother`s footsteps, as she makes her way down the first flight of stairs to the door. I crawl out of bed, and sneak to the edge of the wall, so I can hear better.
"Hello," said a low, rough voice. Who was that? "Well, aren`t you going to let me in? It`s cold out, you know." She doesn`t respond. After another moment of silence, I hear the door swing open, into the mirror behind it.
"How," my mother said, her voice hushed, "How did you get out? You were given thirty years-"
"Yeah, yeah, I know, but good things happen when you show good behavior." I go cold as I realize that that the man, is my father. Oh. All I can think is oh. That`s why my mother hadn`t said anything, she`s too shocked to speak. And I understood why.
When I was around six years old, my father hurt my mother. He`d tell her that it was out of love, and that everything would be okay, as he brought his fist up, then down into her face, her stomach, whatever body part that she wasn`t protecting. I screamed as I watched him kick her side, and I ran to the nearest telephone and dialed 911.
