Is there ever going to be a day where we can look past a skin color? Will there ever be a time when materialistic things won't matter? Tell me, where there ever be a day where we can play outside without fear? The answer? No.. Probably not. The world as it is today is crashing.
I can't ever be defined by my personality or my attitude, I'll only ever be defined by my skin color. Growing up as a black and white girl in this day and age is rough. I've been told I'll never be anything. Why? Because that's how me and many others are stereotyped. Society proceives me as unintellegent, a stealer, a fighter. Little do they know I have big plans for my future. I want to become a pediatrician, I'm always on the A or B honeral and I plan to go to college, do I sound unintellegent to you? Blacks are getting shot for being black. I'm not saying white people are bad, because they aren't. I'm not saying all blacks are innocent, because they aren't. But you can't honestly tell me that it is perfectly okay to shoot down an unarmed kid, teen or adult? I love all races, and many of you do too, but no matter how not racist someone is, no matter what their beliefs are, no matter how you look at it, color is the first thing you see when you look at somebody, whether black, white, or whatever else it's the first thing you see. But tell me, does color define character? Does it define respect, education, manners? No, it doesn't, but sadly that is how society looks at it.
Another thing, the chances of someone getting raped, abused, kidnapped or murdered outside of your home are the same, if not less of a chance of it happening in your own home. Little girls are being taken from their bedrooms, backyards ect. Not to say that parents aren't particially to blame, but it's so sad. You can't even go outside knowing 100% that you'll be okay.
People are so materialistic, nothing matters. What happened to love, hugs, and good conversation? Money and greed happened.


Are we even safe anymore?
