When Gaea and Uranos had children, Gaea loved them, but Uranos hated them. Like any father would do, he threw them into Tartarus. When Gaea had children who were socially acceptable by Uranos, Gaea wanted revenge for her lost children. She took all of her children who were not thrown into Tartarus, the Titans, and offered that whoever killed her husband would be the new ruler of everything. Only one Titan stepped up, Kronos. Gaea tricked Uranous into comming down onto land. Kronos and four of his brothers were able to kill their father. However, a drop if Uranous' blood landed into the ocean, creating sea foam. Eventually, Kronos had kids that soon became the gods, but that's not this story. For, that sea foam took form and a beautiful goddess emerged from it. She called herself Aphrodite, (Af-row- die-tea) the goddess of love and beauty. She soon found herself on an island, where she was raised by nymphs. After The Titan War, Aphrodite decided to take her place on Mount Olympus. When she walked through the doors, all of the male gods fell in love. All of them, except for poor cripled Hephastus, (huh-face-tis) proposed immediatly. Hera, wanting to punish the boys for being so ignorent, decided that Hephastus would marry the goddess. Now, Hephastus and Aphrodite are married. However, Aphrodite has an affair with Ares, showing that war and love have a lot in common.
