I have lately heard rumors of Apple making an a thinner phone. But the rumors say they're thinking of getting rid of the 3.5 mm headphone jack.
Getting rid of the headphone jack? I find that to be a horibble move. And even better, they're thinking of putting technology into the charging port for the iPhone, similar to Apple's iPod shuffle if anyone remember those. Which is charged with a 3.5 mm jack pluged into a wall adapter.
That means, you can't charge your phone and listen to it at the same time, andddddd even more, you'd need an adapter for you to use regular headphones, or you'd need to carry multiple different headphones at you at a time.
Me: Again?!
Apple Ethusiant: What do you mean "Again?!"? Every new iPhone model has cool new features!
Me: Name 3 differences between the iPhone models besides name, size, battery life, graphics, and durability.
Apple Enthusiast: Uhhh...
Me: Exactly.
That sounds like a big hassle for people who listen to music a lot like me. Always streaming. I wonder how this will play out with Apple being known for "design & simplicity".
There are already phones so thin they no longer use 3.5 mm headphone jacks. They have smaller jacks and come with a headphone jack adapter. Maybe they'll do something like that?
The only time I ever use the headphone jack is for my Geiger counter. Aside from that, I have never once used the packed in headphones on my last 3 iPhones.
