So, the rumours (well, quickly-pulled-down PEGI ratings) were right: Minecraft IS coming to the Wii U.
It will feature 4-player split-screen local play (requires a HDTV) and 8-player online play with voice chat.
The game will also support the Wii U Pro Controller, and somewhat confusingly, a USB keyboard (any one will do).
It's also been reported that USB mice will also be supported, though I haven't seen any evidence to that end.
Unfortunately, as I'm sure you will have heard by now, the GamePad currently (I say currently as the Creative Director likes the idea) is not used for inventory management/crafting, instead being used for Off-TV Play, which is admittedly a nice feature.

Minecraft: Wii U Edition to be made available on Nintendo eShop with Multiple Add-On Content Packs included
Mojang’s video game phenomenon Minecraft launches worldwide on Nintendo’s Wii U home console on 17th December. Minecraft: Wii U Edition comes with multiple add-on content packs, and will be available in the Nintendo eShop on Wii U. This looks really good but I don't have a Wii U, so I hope one of the things Nintendo and Mojang are working on is a 3DS version. (The homebrew 3DSCraft, while a cool tech demo, doesn't really cut it)
Prices to be revealed in the UK, though NoA says it'll be USD$29.99 (equivalent to GBP£19.89 right now so likely the price will be £19.99 here)

0.o the only reason I will ever buy this is to troll all the newcomers other then that this is a waste of cash seriousley just play it on PC or if you like it better on pe play PE PERIOD
