summer lilacs
in the fields
summer love
never yields
for anyone
you could be new
the summer ends
as it would, you knew
changing tides
and bright blue moons
time spent chasing
the new afternoon
odes of love
and changing years
odes of sadness
fears, and tears
pleading, chasing
a new day
wishing, yearning
to go away
time spent wasted
on empty thoughts
nothing came
from what you brought
from the ground
to where everything sits
"this will hurt"
like you didn't hear it
summer lilacs
daisies and roses
everybody turns their noses
to something new,
to avoid running into
what they hadn't knew
you could be anything
chasing the sun
you could be nothing
trying to run
summer posies
and a foreign sun
time flies
when you're not having fun
