Me and Karyn find a forest with tall trees on our way to a hotel. "Are you sure you want to go in here?" Karyn asks me nervously, peering at the trees. "Yeah. We can take a walk through here," I say, stepping into the forest. Karyn cautiously steps in after me. We fold our wings against our backs and start walking through the forest.
CRACK! A twig snapped.
"Uh, Karyn? Did you hear that?" I ask, adrenaline surging through my body. "Yeah, I did." He replies, fists at the ready to punch anything that leapt out at us.
We hear more twigs snapping and the sound of leaves crunching under some feet. The footsteps are getting closer. The figure finally comes into view.
Karyn backed away. So did I.
The wolf looked as if it were a demon and had bloodshot eyes and black skin, since it was ugly and furless. It also had huge grey wings. I stared in shock. "I’m Atakia. I'm here to rip out your throats." The wolf grimaced, licking her lips with blood dripping out of her mouth from her last prey. She lunged for us, her five-feet-tall body sailing through the air.
I kicked at Atakia’s face, then I remembered that I had a knife in my pocket. I took it out, and jumped onto her. CRUNCH! Cringing at the sound of a few ribs breaking, I regained my composure and ran as fast as I could. But Atakia stood back up and growled, going after me. She launched into the air and landed right on my chest, and I fell down. Suddenly, she gave me a huge scratch on my stomach. I screamed in pain, my hands flying to my stomach to cover the gash. Blood flowed out between my fingers. Karyn snatched the knife out of my hand and impaled Atakia's neck with it. The wolf howled in pain, and then went limp. She was dead.
"Zennia, you okay?!" Karyn dropped the knife and ran over to me. I shook my head no, too dizzy to speak. I got up off the ground, but as soon as I did my knees buckled and I was back down.
My injury was very major. Blood was seeping out rapidly. Karyn grabbed some antiseptic from his bag and cleaned my injury. He then covered it with a bandage and helped me up. "Let's get out of here before anything else attacks." He told me. Karyn then swept me off my feet, because I was injured so badly that I couldn't fly. So he carried me as he flew. "Thanks for helping me, Karyn.." I said faintly, still woozy from the loss of blood. "No problem." He replied.
Before I could say anything else, I slipped away from consciousness.
