In the Dark
Forsaken in this nebulous chamber,
waiting for sunlight to materialize,
but knowing it's a palpsble absurdity.
I am subsisting in a dark abyss with nightmarish creatures,
each clawing and competing for survival.
The blackness engulfs us, consumes us.
My world is colorless,
a big, tenebrous void of nothingness.
My life is dark
Who am I?
Well they call me queen of the night,
master of the pit.
I am the thing in the dark,
watching when you turn your back,
waiting patiently to make myself known.
I bask in the angst of my victim,
reveling the uneasiness I create.
It is an art I have come to perfect.
Because it is my nature,
I have come to realize,
in my own twisted way,
that the sun should not come because
in truth, I yearn for the dark.
I crave it, I breathe it, I live it, I smell it, and feel it
so I say to the sun, stay where you are,
you are not needed here
because I love my lurid life.
