I made a text to speech rant of the furry fandom and things I've seen in it that annoy me, so merry christ Kitty has filled her obligatory rant blog quota, all your withdrawls can stop for a bit. I'll add a link to the video somewhere if I ever actually make and finish it it. Cause it's like 3 Minutes long.

So, I want to talk about some things I've noticed in the furry fandom that really annoy me. What are they you may wonder?
The furries who try to "convert" non furries into the fandom. Like please just get out? Like, we're not a god dang cult stop trying to drag or force people in who aren't interested. You can talk about it with your non furry friends and family, you can ask them if they'd be interested in it or if they'd ever consider joining all that stuff, whatever. but the moment they tell you no, I will not join the fandom, or no I have no interest. Is the moment you respect their opinion and not try to force them in. If you still want to discuss the fandom with them and they are fine with it then you do you. But could you guys not try to "convert" people like we're a god dang cult or religion?

I've especially seen it prevalent with the younger furs who "come out" to their parents as furries. Like coolio your parents are more laid back I guess? And don't mind you being a furry. But freaking stop with the whole "I'M GONNA CONVERT MY FAMILY TO THE FANDOM!" You can talk to them about it, ask if they're interested whatever normal conversations. But if they tell you they aren't interested then freaking drop it. All you do is give the fandom a bad light by obsessively trying to "convert all the normies". Seriously just freaking stop.

On another note, mentioning the whole coming out as a furry thing. You do you but you know its not necessary right? I've seen it a lot on Furry Amino where kids say they came out as furries and now their parents are yelling at them or judging them for it. If you know your parents are judgemental or close minded like this, its your own fault you "came out" as a furry. Especially since it's not freaking necessary? Its a hobby. It's not like you have to come out for having any other hobbies, so why is being a furry any different? If you had to "come out" to get a fursuit, then you are probably not old enough to get one in the first place.

Speaking of young furs and fursuits. A FURSUIT IS A LUXURY. You do not need one at negative six years old. If you're thirteen and you just have to have a suit but your parents won't let you. Too bad so sad. Wait. They are extremely expensive and you don't need to be getting one while you're still growing just to grow out of it, that wastes the makers time, and your money.
Also NO, needing money for a suit does not warrant "emergency commissions" if you can't pay for the suit with your own money at the time you got a quote, then again, too bad so sad. Wait. Or just make a suit yourself. It may take actual effort and time, and may not look like autumn fallings or Lemon brat or insert popular maker here, but it will be cheaper than commissioning. ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A YOUNGER FUR.
Also no Younger Furs should not get mother freaking full suits. Partials? Yea fine I guess there's less to grow out of. But Full suits? Hell freaking no. Not only will you probably grow out of it, your body cannot regulate heat like an adults can. So putting on a giant furry oven is a bad idea. The visibility in a suit is also really reduced so letting a younger kid run around in one is probably gonna lead to injuries.
