So, Minesweeper. Anyone who has used a computer before will have played this game at least once. The problem here is that everyone I know that played this game doesn't know how to play it. This is why I'm making this blog, I'll teach you guys how to beat this game using the instructions never given by the game.
Well, let's begin. Once you open the game you have to click on any any of the little gray boxes, if you do that I know 3 things that could happen: A colored number will appear, you clicked on a mine (and you lost) or if you are lucky a large space opened. What does this mean? Why did I suddenly lose? I'll explain things straight up.
The whole point of minesweeper is to find mines, mines are hidden in any of the boxes, but if you step on a hidden mine you lose, you find them if you know where they are hidden, so you'll need to leave some boxes unchecked. Depending on the difficulty you are playing, you'll need to find less or more mines. The number left to the happy face is the amount of mines you have to find.
If you know where a mine is hidden you should flag it with a right click on the box that hides the mine, that way you'll remember its location and protects you from missclicks.
Ok, after clarifying this situation we move to the following question: How do I find mines?. That's what numbers are for!
This is very simple and funny, so remember this: A number tells you how many mines are hidden around it.
For example: You find the number 2, the number 2 is in the center of a 3x3 box, that means it's around 8 boxes of which 2 hide mines and 5 are empty.
This is important, if around the number 3 there are 5 empty boxes (either you checked them or there was nothing) and 3 unchecked boxes then that means that those 3 unchecked boxes are mines, so don't click on them!
Last but not least, if a box with no number is discovered, it indicates that none of the neighboring boxes have a mine and they are discovered automatically. This is how you open large spaces, those help you a lot.
This is pretty much it guys, now you just have to play around the situtions. You'll soon find a 3 surrounded by 5 unchecked boxes, which means that it's not save to click any on them, so you'll have to search other mines and numbers to maximize your chances.
Then you have to check on every box except the boxes that you know hide mines, that way you win.
This is it guys, hope I clarified things. If I missed something or have any question let me now in the comments. Bye.
