HiYA. I know it’s been a while but Zen and I decided to continue writing Extended Night. So, here we go.

"Ummm... My name is Flare, and I live with my sister Zen, and our friend Ryu.. And also our parents—" BAM! A noise that came from the back of the room interrupts me.
Then I see it.
The cats.
Or I thought I saw them. I realized I was standing up, so I took my seat. My head was throbbing painfully as it had earlier on the bus. Why had I hallucinated about the cats?
It was just Ryu, coming in late to class. He walked over to the empty seat next to me.
“Thanks for saving my seat, Flarey,†he whispered.
“Yeah, whatever,†I said through clenched teeth, my hands pressed to my temples.
“What’s wrong?†He asked, a look of concern etched on his face.
“I’ll tell you at lunch.â€
Suddenly, Mrs. Johnson marched up to Ryu’s desk.
“Young man, why are you late?†she asked sternly. She stood with her arms crossed, her coffee brown eyes staring him down.
“I... was having trouble finding the class...†he muttered, throwing down his backpack and sitting down.
“Well, tomorrow it better not be the same thing. Your duty is to be here on time,†she scolded, walking to the front of the room. She pointed to a girl with caramel hair and caramel eyes and asked her to introduce herself. I tuned everything out, realizing that the pounding feeling had escaped my head. I wonder if anyone else noticed how dark it was outside, and if anyone else felt the excruciating pain in their head. Probably not, about the pain. But you’d have to notice how dark it was outside. It was obvious there was something off, not right.
I was brought back to my senses as the girl with caramel eyes asked the question aloud to Mrs. Johnson.
“Why is it so dark outside? The sky should be blue right now, but it looks like night,†she said. I stared across the room at her as the class began to erupt into conversation. It took Mrs. Johnson several seconds to quiet the class down.
“Now, that is something I am not sure of. It is quite worrying, but the school day must commence as it usually would. There is nothing affecting us from learning today,†she explained.
Class went on as normal, and soon everyone was introduced. As soon as the bell rang, I jumped out of my seat. Ryu was following close behind me as we walked into the hallway.
“What’s your next class?†I asked him. He wasn’t concerned about what classes we had together, though. He was still concerned about me.
“I said I’ll tell you at lunch,†I repeated, replying to his worried expression.
He nodded, but the look of worry did not leave his eyes.
“I have Algebra.â€
We rounded a corner, and I saw the night sky through a tall window, “Which teacher?â€
“Ms. Albright,†He answered, looking at the slightly crumpled piece of paper in his hand. I sighed loudly.
“I have Mr. Winchester. At least our rooms are right next to each other,†I said, spotting our classes easily. My head was still aching, but only in the slightest way. I grimaced.
“Alright, so I’ll see you at lunch?†Ryu asked. I nodded, and then he walked into his classroom.
I felt like I had a huge migraine. This was going to be some first day, I thought. I entered my classroom.
