Member Conduct Since the membership of the community has gotten older over the years (but there are still younger members), we will be opening up the community to be more free-speech oriented. Because of this, the age ratings used on the blogs will expand to most other public-facing areas of the community. Keep in mind that the "M" rating is not "AO", "XXX", "NC-17", etc., so that does not mean admins will tolerate pornography or graphic violence. Admins will also still warn and ban for slurs against ethnicity, sexuality, religion, etc. If a member has set a birthday that determines age to be below the age rating, a warning will display, but no content will be blocked. The profanity filter setting will also produce a warning but allow access.
Admin Conduct Some troublemaking admins have had their powers stripped. We're good with admins now, so there's no need to ask to be promoted. We will be posting a Code of Conduct for admins.
In the future, we will also replace the current admin system with a hierarchical one - most likely with levels of "moderator", "admin", and "overlord".
Community Security: Blocking and muting are upcoming features. These will help to protect members against harassment that only banning could do in the past. The Friend system will be overhauled to be treated as "follows". Mutual "follows" will create a friendship. Private profiles will be allow "follows". Muting and blocking will prevent a "follow" for a particular member.
Upcoming Features: The next major update will be in member profiles. Eventually, everything will be updated to match the styling of areas that have already been updated.
There's a new API in the works to replace the old one and allow outside games and apps to link to the community. Members will be able to register any number of approved games/app in their profile and unlink them at any times. Linking games will allow for sharing of leaderboards, save data, etc. The first game to make use of the API will be "Tomeling in Trouble" v2.0 for Android, iOS, and the Nintendo 3DS. The new SDK Community App for iOS will be the next one. We (HullBreach Studios) have other games in the works with beta testing opportunities on iOS and Android. One such game is "Exprestive", a facial-recognition game. Anyone interested in beta testing can message either Skunkman or me.
