Finally Netflix gave me another movie I ended up liking! That's like what 2 out of 5 that I've made blogs on? Wow 40% if I can do math anyway. But Train to Busan is fucking n e a t ok. I really liked it, it wasn't super boring. It's in Korean though, or at least it was on Netflix. It has subtitles, and it manages to not be distracting to have to read them while you watch. And that's coming from someone who hates watching movies or shows with subtitles. Also obviously probably gonna have some spoilers.


The movies really good though, please watch it. I really liked the zombies. I don't know if they did effects on the people after the fact in post or if they just managed to get all the people playing zombies to act super erratically but it's great. The zombies are really over the top, there's a ton of scenes where there's just big hordes of zombies all plowing over each other, sliding through like a hallway trying to run around a corner etc. It's great and I love it.


It's also decently gorey. It's not like on the levels of blood and guts everywhere. But there's more than enough blood and plenty of people get their necks munched on.


The music during chase/fight scenes with the zombies is also really really good. I liked it. Normally I don't notice or pay much attention to music in movies, especially in scenes like that because I'm more focused on what's happening. But I actually managed to pay attention to the music too and it was good.


The movie follows This dad character and his daughter, I don't remember their names, and other passengers on a train heading to Busan during a Zombie Apocalypse. Obviously.


For once I did not hate all the characters in a horror movie. Or I guess this is kind of an action movie more than a horror one but whatever. I liked the characters. I even liked the child kind of.


Mostly because they don't really focus on her, but hey. When she's there she's not really annoying. There was only like one character I didn't like, but you aren't supposed to like him anyway. So ayyyy.


Almost no one makes it to Busan though. You have this whole train full of people, and also Zombies and because of this one asshole almost everyone dies.


Quite a few people die in the beginning alone because some b i t c h, hid on the train after getting her leg munched on. The surviving passengers get away from the zombie horde because ha ha zombies don't know how to open doors.


They get to some station, I don't remember its name either, and more of the remaining passengers die because the military there trying to quarantine became zombies too.


They get back on the train, the daughter and her dad get seperated, so the father, some other guy who's about to be a dad and some other kid fight their way through the zombies to the car the daughter, the other guys wife, some hobo and an old lady are hiding.


They try to get into the car where everyone else is but because dumbass mcgee convinces everyone that they're probably infected they shouldn't let them in.


To be fair he had a valid point. But also fuck him. I don't like him.


Eventually they get into the car with everyone else, not before sacrificing a little old lady and the guy who was gonna be a dad. Dumbass Mcgee then convinces everyone that the group who just got into their car is totally infected, and needs to go into the divider between one car and another.


So they leave. Then everyone in the car that they were literally j u s t in gets ripped to shreds by the horde because the other little old lady decides fuck it. She's done with life her sister/friend/whatever relation they were is now part of the ravenous undead horde, might as well join her and bring these idiots down with her.


So they chill out for a bit until the track is blocked. The conductor leaves to find a train on an unblocked track they can escape in and eventually the remaining group attempts to follow.


They don't get very far because Dumbass Mcgee also managed to live and brings a zombie horde along with him, as well as using anyone in his way as a human meat shield.


By the end of it the only ones left on the new train are the Wife to the dead guy, the daughter, the father and Dumbass Mcgee who is becoming a zombie.


Dumbass Mcgee bites the dad while they fight, the dad eventually gets him off the train, tells the Wife how to stop the train once its safe. Then valiantly yeets himself off the back of the train as he turns.


Such a good dad.


And that's the movie. I enjoyed this movie a lot. I should watch zombie movies more often.
