I always feel like I am hiding.

The reason why, I try to answer through my writing.

I'm not hiding from the monsters under my bed,

More like the ones that are living in my head.

I'm not running from the past,

It's the future I'm afraid of, I want my youth to last.

I'm not trying to hide from the pain I feel inside,

No, I'm trying to work through it, but it doesn't want to subside.

I'm not hiding from the life I have to live,

Maybe i'm hiding from the love I am scared to give.

I've been kicked to the curb before,

With only the clothes on my back and nothing more.

Many people have offered me a helping hand,

But my flaws and faults they just wouldn't understand.

If I don't let them help me up, I cannot fall back down.

So I think i'll get comfy here, on this nice green cold hard ground.

I've been sitting here for fourteen years today,

And I'm realizing now that I need to find another way.

Just because you don't see it in you doesn't mean they don't.

So take a leap of faith and grab their hand. They're not going to hurt you, I promise you they won't.

When you come out of hiding, there's so much more to see,

And you'll finally become the person you were always supposed to be.
