JJ woke to the sound of his alarm clock going off. slowly he sat up and threw his feet over the side of the bed slipping them into his tattered house shoes and walking out into the hallway and into his sister’s room.
“Time to get up fathead” his statement was answered with silence and little movement from his older sister. He turned to leave the room so he could get a cup of water and was hit in the back of the head by his older sister’s pillow. “OWWW, That hurt!”he bellowed.
“That's for going to get water “
“How do you know i was going to get water” she just looked at him
“Alright “ he said turning and was hit another pillow
“Seriously!”
“No water I’ll be down in a minute “ she said laying back down JJ just left and walked to the bathroom.Today was going to be a long day.

When JJ walked down the stairs he ignored the fact that his sister had already sitting down eating a plate of pancakes
“Morning mom
Morning sweety” his mother said turning away from the stove to face him.
“Wow you look nice” speaking about his only good pair of blue jeans and ironed blue polo his long dreads were pulled back behind his shoulders
“Is today special? “
‘No.“ "Oh please” his sister said.”The last time you wore that shirt was at the audition for the soccer ball commercial last year.” JJ sighed. He hated when his sister uncovered his plans not that any of them were bad but still the thought of his older sister alwas buting in bothered him.
“ well I kind of had plans to hang out with a friend of mine after school “ he said unevenly
“He has a date “Grace said for him. His mother turned and looked at him sorrowfully
“You know what JJ maybe you should rethink this before you embarrass yourself sweety,” JJ dropped his gaze to the floor Last time he had tried to date, the girl had dumped him for his best friend, not only that but she did it in front of evryone At the the Homecoming dance After getting voted Homecoming queen. Again.
“Gee thanks mom you're really boosting my confidence right now”
“Good,“ JJ’s mother said “come on you two I’ll drive to school” and she turned grabbed her keys and walked out her two children following behind her with their bags.
When they got to the car JJ said “wait!" and ran back into the house soon he returned with a piece of toast smeared heavy with jelly off of the table. His mom and sister just glared at him.
