Although I'm planning on also writing blogs about taking advantage of Join Avenue and taking advantage of Festival Plaza, I'd first like to write this blog about taking advantage of Super-Secret Bases in Pokémon Ω Ruby and α Sapphire Versions.
(And you should definitely read that Bulbapedia page before reading this blog BTW, so that you understand the basics of how everything works.)

The first thing to understand about Super-Secret Bases is that the special skills of your Secret Pals in them do many of the same things as the shops in Join Avenue or the stalls in Festival Plaza—such as acquiring rare or otherwise unobtainable items, training your Pokémon's EVs, hatching eggs more quickly, etc.—and with this in mind, it is important to think about the Trainer class of the Secret Pals that you invite to stay in your base, since they all have different special skills.

Due to the fact that you can also battle your Secret Pals and revisit their Super-Secret Bases, however, Trainer class is by no means the only thing that should be taken into consideration, and determining which Secret Pals that you want to keep for their special skills, the Pokémon that they use in battle, and their Secret Bases is the key to taking full advantage of Super-Secret Bases.

[Spoiler=1. Battling Secret Base Trainers]

“Once a day, a Secret Pal may be battled (regardless of whether they were battled at their base)…”

My first piece of advice here is to battle every single Secret Base Trainer that shows up after importing them into your game, so that you can register all of the Pokémon that they use in battle (including any Shinies that they might use) as “seen” in your Pokédex, and battling many Secret Base Trainers is by far the best way to register lots of Shiny Pokémon as “seen” in your Pokédex.

Now, although you'll obviously want to take into consideration how fun and/or challenging the Trainer is to battle as well, for the purpose of leveling up Pokémon as quickly as possible, the absolute best sort of Secret Base Trainer you can have access to is one with 3 Level 100 Arceuses, due to the fact that Arceus grants more experience when defeated than any other Pokémon.

The reason for this is because the amount of Exp. given when defeating a Pokémon in ΩR/αS is based on both that Pokémon's level and its BST (base stat total), and since Arceus has a BST of 720—higher than any other Pokémon—it grants the most Exp. upon defeating.
(Black and White Kyurem are in 2nd place with BSTs of 700, and most other Special Pokémon have a BST of 680.)

If you are fortunate enough to have access to a Secret Base Trainer like this, by combining the effects of the Exp. Point Boost Power and the Lucky Egg, you can easily level 5 Level 1 Pokémon to Level >40 in a single battle.
(Which saves a TON of time and/or Rare Candies.)

There are far better ways of [A=/blog/view.php?id=100325#:~:text=Gen 6 Hoenn]EV training[/A] in Gen 6 than battling Secret Base Trainers, so you shouldn't worry about what EVs a Secret Base Trainer's Pokémon give upon defeating them, but having the ability to battle high level Legendary Pokémon that grant massive amounts of Exp. is an incredibly useful feature of Super-Secret Bases, and most certainly one worth taking advantage of if possible.[/Spoiler]

[Spoiler=2. Utilizing Special Skills]By far, the most useful aspect of Super-Secret Bases are the various special skills that your Secret Pals can use, although some special skills are certainly more useful than others.

I will now rank, describe, and explain the best ways of using each of the different special skills that your Secret Pals can use, as well as listing which Trainer classes get each of them.

#1 Pick something up

Usable by: Aroma Lady, Hiker, Schoolkid, Hex Maniac, Swimmer♂, Beauty, Ninja Boy, Lass, Guitarist, Picnicker, Camper.

This is by far the most valuable special skill IMO, because if used properly, it can allow you to (over time) obtain a MASSIVE number of PP Maxes and even Master Balls.
(I have over 999 of the former and over 50 of the latter in my own Ω Ruby Version game, BTW.)

“Pick something up” is one of the 5 item skills, along with “Gather Berries”, “Pick up stones”, “Search for treasure”, and “Make some goods”, and understanding how these 5 skills work and how each of them relate to one another is the key to success when using them.

First of all, every day before you have your Secret Pals use any of their skills, save the game. This is EXTREMELY important, as it will allow you to use your Secret Pals' special skills far more efficiently and effectively.

The reason for this is because the items granted by the 5 item skills are all predetermined, so if I save the game and then ask each of my Secret Pals to use item skills twice, and then soft reset the game and have them use those same item skills twice again, I will receive the exact same items from the same Secret Pals in the same order again, and I will no matter how many times I do so until the day changes and tomorrow's (also predetermined) items replace today's ones.

This means that it is always worth checking your Secret Pals' item skills first, as you wouldn't want to miss out on a Master Ball just because you wanted to EV train a Pokémon or something that day instead.

Additionally, there are relationships between the different items each of the item skills gives you. For example, if a Hex Maniac pal of yours gives you an Escape Rope followed by another Escape Rope when you have her use her “Pick something up” skill, she will only give you a Float Stone or (if you're lucky) a Pearl if you were to have her use “Search for treasure” instead, and over time you will eventually learn the different relationships between the various items given by the item skills, and it will save you a lot of time when checking your Secret Pals each day.

The one exception to these item relationships—and it's a VERY important one—are Master Balls, which cannot be predicted based on the items given by the “Gather Berries”, “Pick up stones”, or “Search for treasure” skills or vice-versa, although there does seem to be a connection between your Secret Pals giving you a Master Ball and them giving you a Small Desk with the “Make some goods” skill.
(Other than Master Balls, I couldn't figure out what if any relationships there were between the goods given by “Make some goods” and the items given by the other 4 item skills though, BTW.)

Since you can have up to 5 Secret Pals in your base at a time and they can each use special skills twice daily (once you have the Platinum Flag anyway), this means you can have up to 10 chances to get a Master Ball each day, which is even better than the lottery shops and raffle shops in Festival Plaza and Join Avenue.
(And that's just the tip of the Regice.)

My personal favorites to have use this skill are Hex Maniacs, Swimmers, Lasses, and Guitarists, as they all also get “Tell my fortune”, an incredibly useful special skill that (unlike the item skills) has a random effect that is not predetermined before use, although Aroma Ladies and Hikers are also really good IMO due to them getting “Take care of an Egg”.

#2 Tell my fortune

Usable by: Hex Maniac, Swimmer♂, Fairy Tale Girl, Poké Maniac, Lass, Guitarist.

This special skill randomly grants you 1 of 4 different “MAX-strength 
O-Powers” each time it is used, those being Bargain Power MAX, Capture Power MAX, Prize Money Power MAX, and the (practically worthless) Full Recovery Power.

Each of these powers (save for the recovery one) lasts for 1 hour, making the Prize Money Power incredibly useful for earning money (its effect stacks with that of the Amulet Coin), and the Bargain Power is incredibly useful for saving money and/or stocking up on Premier Balls (you can buy 10 Poké Balls and sell them back at no loss repeatedly), and the Capture Power is handy for catching Pokémon much more easily—especially Legendaries.
(Although obviously nothing beats a Master Ball for that, lol!)

It is also worth noting that this is the only special skill that is slightly different depending upon the Trainer class of the Secret Pal using it. Specifically, the message your Secret Pal says when they're “telling your fortune” varies depending upon their Trainer class.
(My personal favorite is the Hex Maniac's one.)

#3 Take care of an Egg

Usable by: Aroma Lady, Hiker, Poké Fan, Ace Trainer, Pokémon Breeder.

Decreases the Egg cycle count of a chosen Egg in the player's party by half of its species' base Egg cycle value (rounded up.)

Pretty much self-explanatory. It works the same way as the Nurseries in Join Avenue, and IIRC just 2 uses of this skill will cause any Pokémon Egg to hatch.
(With those 2 special Eggs that are given to you on Lavaridge Town being 2 noteworthy exceptions to that.)

This is an incredibly useful special skill to have if you breed a lot of Pokémon, and it is WAY better than relying on Hatching Power 3 to help hatch Eggs quickly.

As for the best Secret Pals to have around for using this, Aroma Ladies and Hikers are great because they also get “Pick something up” (the best of the item skills, due to the Master Balls), although Ace Trainers and Pokémon Breeders both get “Do some exercise”, which can be handy for EV training.

#4 Search for treasure

Usable by: Hex Maniac, Swimmer♂, Fairy Tale Girl, Poké Maniac, Lass, Guitarist, Lady, Rich Boy, Delinquent, Street Thug.

The 2nd best item skill IMO, due to how much money (in the form of valuable items) you can make with it.

The biggest appeal of this special skill is the Comet Shards, with sell for a whopping 15,000, and if you sell 667 of these or more at once—I have over 999, all acquired by using this special skill—you will max out your money at 9,999,999.
(Yet for some reason they let you sell more than that at once, despite there being no benefit to it.)

The best choices of who to have around for this special skill (as with all item skills) are Secret Pals who get useful non-item skills as well. Hex Maniac, Swimmer♂, Lass, and Guitarist all get both “Tell my fortune” and “Pick something up” in addition to this skill.

#5 Pick up stones

Usable by: Schoolkid, Fairy Tale Girl, Poké Maniac, Pokémon Ranger, Lady, Rich Boy, Delinquent, Street Thug, Beauty, Ninja.

Another item skill, and one that is quite useful if you use a lot of Evolution stones.

It is particularly useful for getting Dawn, Dusk, and Shiny Stones, and the best Secret Pals with this skill IMO are Fairy Tale Girls and Poké Maniacs due to their “Tell my fortune” skill, although Pokémon Rangers are also a good choice for this since they also get “Do some exercise”.

#6 Do some exercise

Usable by: Battle Girl, Black Belt, Pokémon Ranger, Expert, Ace Trainer, Pokémon Breeder.

This special skill gives 30 EVs to a stat of your choice each time, and while it's certainly not the best way of [A=/blog/view.php?id=100325#:~:text=Gen 6 Hoenn]EV training[/A] in ΩR/αS, it is the best way of doing so without also leveling up your Pokémon, which could be handy if you are trying to keep your Pokémon below a certain level in order to battle under some specific ruleset.

My personal favorite for this skill are Ace Trainers, since they also get “Take care of an Egg” and “Do some training”, but Pokémon Rangers are a good choice for this as well if you use a lot of Evolution stones.

#7 Gather Berries

Usable by: Schoolkid, Poké Fan, Pokémon Ranger, Beauty, Ninja Boy, Picnicker, Camper.

An incredibly useful special skill until it isn't, as it is the easiest way of obtaining the Liechi Berry, Ganlon Berry, Salac Berry, Petaya Berry, Apicot Berry, Kee Berry, and Maranga Berry in ΩR/αS aside from being traded one (on a Pokémon) by another player.

The problem is that once you've gotten 1 of each type of Berry you don't really need any more since you can grow Berries in Hoenn, and so in the long term, this special skill isn't really worth bothering with.

#8 Do some training

Usable by: Battle Girl, Black Belt, Delinquent, Street Thug, Expert, Ace Trainer.

Basically a free level-up. Were there not so many different ways of getting lots of Rare Candies in ΩR/αS I'd probably rank it higher, and as with “Do some training”, the best Secret Pal for this IMO is the Ace Trainer.

#9 Make some goods

Usable by: Everyone.

Literally every Trainer class of Secret Pal gets this skill. It is the least useful and/or special of the 5 item skills, and it is best used when a Secret Pal's other item skills are all giving undesirable items.

#10 Massage a Pokémon

Usable by: Aroma Lady, Hiker, Battle Girl, Black Belt, Poké Fan, Expert, Lady, Rich Boy, Pokémon Breeder.

This special skill raises a Pokémon's friendship towards you, which (while quite useful) can be done much faster by simply growing tons of EV-reducing Berries and using the one(s) that lower the stat(s) that you aren't interested in raising anyway.[/Spoiler]

[Spoiler=3. Managing Secret Pals]

There are 82 Secret Spots where the player can establish a Secret Base, and an 83rd spot in Mossdeep City reserved for Secret Bases from special QR Codes. There can only be about 30 secret bases in a game at the same time, with any additional bases causing the deletion of older bases.

Scanning the QR code in that image above will grant access to Shigeru Ohmori's Secret Base in Mossdeep City, and he will offer you a Regice Doll once daily.

Anyway, as I mentioned in that above quote from Bulbapedia, you may have no more than 30 Secret Bases in your game at a time, but at least 5 of these can be protected from “additional bases causing the deletion of older bases” by recruiting the Secret Base's owners as your Secret Pals, and an additional 15 bases can be protected from this by registering them as “favorites” on your Secret PC, allowing you to effectively preserve (at least) 20 Secret Bases/Pals of your choosing while importing new ones into your game.

As I had mentioned earlier, there are a variety of different factors that need to be considered when deciding who your 5 Secret Pals should be and which 15 Secret Bases you should register as favorites in your Secret PC (although you do not need to register your Secret Pals' bases as favorites), including their special skills, the Pokémon that they use in battle, and the coolness of their Secret Base and/or themselves. And taking all of these different things into consideration when managing the 30 different Secret Bases that exist in your game is the key to truly taking advantage of Super-Secret Bases. [/Spoiler]
