It's the admiral's birthday! He invited the whole town to a grand celebration on the base to mark the occasion! Of course, my team of journalists and photographers will be there to document everything we can~.
Opening Speech, by Houshou (translated to English by Saratoga)
Welcome, everybody, to our first birthday banquet for our dear Admiral! Thank you all for joining us today to mark this occasion.
Since this base's founding over 3 months ago, this admiral has worked tirelessly to grow it and help protect the seas. If anything, that is a valiant trait, and I thank him for that.
Throughout this process, he never failed to treat us as people, no matter the disposition we held towards him. As a soldier under his command, I thank him for that.
He even does his best to understand our culture, as a foreigner. Since I came here about 2 months ago, he has made leaps and bounds towards his understanding of the Japanese spirit. Even when he used 「atashiã€, I thank him for that. *slight laughter*
On this day, our admiral will turn 40, and it seems that he has wisdom beyond his years. Let us lend him our strength so we can make the following year the best in his life!
*applause, then cheers*
The celebration was very merry! Houshou planned everything out meticulously so everyone, especially the Admiral, would have fun there.
Kongou and her sisters organized a little brass quartet for some ambiance music! It was quite nice. Kongou said she's doing it all from her "love to the Admiral!" One of the commanders also gave a thumbs up to the ensemble!
There was, of course, food. Houshou made sure that there were the Admiral's favorites in there, but nobody knew which one was it. Everything tasted splendid, after all!
The Admiral even opened a video call to his family back at home and grandparents just a sea over to say hi. They wished him happy birthday and chatted a little. I think what was most intriguing for everyone was that they could just talk to the Admiral's parents so freely. They were nice people, and it was nice that everybody said hi.
I'll stop here for now. I gotta get back into the party!
