It's been another week, jeez. It seems that the naval operations have been going on as usual while the town is rebuilding. The base itself didn't look too damaged, it seems. Only the administration building was noticeably damaged, and within a week it was reconstructed. Now, you can't even tell if there's a difference. So amazing!
(I was told that Hatsuzuki was the MVP in protecting the base. Her AA attacks are near unparalleled, so it's only natural. And to brave enemy fire!)
In the meanwhile, the town's recovery has been a bit slower. We still have lives to attend to, and many more buildings to fix. Seems like the bombs just overshot the base and hit us, heh. Our building is being reconstructed, but it might take a month or so before it is truly ready for use again. Most of it is prefabricated for ease of replacement, so it shouldn't take too long.
In the meanwhile, we've moved our studio to a different building. We're stuck in the attic of Kumano's apparel shop with Akigumo's group. Not that it's an issue; they're great people, after all~!
While the town was all ripped up from the bombing, I couldn't help but notice miniature versions of furniture, tunnels, and apartment complexes everywhere. I'm told that that's where the fairies usually live, and they're kept out of the eye of the public because of their sheer number.
Fairies, if you're unaware, are the little guys who help out all over the place. They usually deal with equipment if you're on base, but they can also help out in technical matters like in Akashi's Arsenal or in Yuubari's workshops or simply clean up messes many times their size. They're so diligent, too! They get so much work done in so little time! And what's more: they're shooou cuuute! Especially when they're carrying something too big for their own good. But they do it somehow.
The reason behind me mentioning this is because I saw them so much, helping us out and others in the community to rebuild. Not only did we have people generous enough to just donate their time to help us. We're eternally thankful!
Fairies were the MVPs this time around. Perhaps I should write about them in the next news release to thank them. It'll be a special edition because of the wait~!
I can't do it today, though. I have some reorganization and editing to do for the newspaper. I'll probably do the interview and feature piece tomorrow. Haah...
