Today's the daaay! I can't wait to see what awaits me at the naval base! Ah, but I'm there mainly to report, not to eat, right? I'm sure that Yuubari's lot will take care of the filming.
This banquet, as I'm told, is supposed to be a test run for the upcoming New Year's banquet. For that one, we're hosting the officers from the neighboring naval base. Also known as the admiral's superiors. No pressure!
The party itself seems quite Western in style. Not the kind of thing for New Year's, I'm told, but we'll see. It's all Christmas decorations, and it lights up the entire large room so spectacularly! It's been a while since I've been in the mess hall, but I don't remember it being this large.
It seems like there has been a change of heart about the live stream of the party. It'll just be the first few parts, and that will be recorded for safekeeping.
To get this as right as possible, we've pulled out all the stops. Akigumo and her group are here to make commemorative sketches and make sure the videography looks sharp; Yuubari and her group are making sure lights, sound, and cameras are functional throughout the entire ceremony; Houshou-san and her company are catering for this event; Naka-chan and her company will provide entertainment during dinner; of course, I'm here along with my coworkers to just get tidbits for upcoming articles and conduct interviews for the final video. And to think this party is just the dress rehearsal!
Unfortunately, since I'll be so busy, I can't write in here for the full time. I'll be exhausted afterward, too, so it wouldn't be worth the time to transcribe it for my journal. It's going to be mighty long, too.
Alright, almost go time. Serious mode on, all or nothing.
Everything's going smoothly. Got good shots from the reception and opening speeches. Now I'm just jotting down some words while people are lining up for food.
It looks like peak flu season right now, with all the masks. Not to matter, though. We're doing our part!
In terms of the others, Akigumo got some good reference images so she can commemorate the entire event well. Yuubari's equipment is working perfectly, as far as I know. We're all doing our best!
Alright, I'm getting a little peckish myself. I should probably get a bite to eat while I have the chance.
Ah, the entire thing went smoothly! After the meal, we had a little dance. It was interesting to party until midnight!
I did what I needed to, which wasn't much. What could I write about for just a dance, after all? I'm leaving it in Yuubari's hands to make sure we have coverage of that if needed.
Oh, but I do have this to say: Commander Tachi, as he's called here, has quite the dance moves. He was groovin' with everybody. By the looks of it, he won every dance battle. He can even breakdance in a suit! What kind of wacky talent is that?!
It's interesting to see that the Admiral wasn't much of a party animal himself. For the two to be on very good terms is something that is unusual to see, to say the least.
Let's not even get to how they can spare the funds to party like this in the middle of an important operation. At least, from what I hear.
These people really are a weird bunch. Maybe I'll get an interesting story from this after all!
