We've been targeted again. How unfortunate. I guess having two parties back-to-back was really exorbitant on the Admiral's part, but who am I to judge.
Right now I'm holed up in a reserve bunker at the base. A great portion of us are still in our party dresses, but we all look like a mess. One moment, we were counting down the beginning of the New Year, and the next, we were running for our lives after hearing an air raid siren. Poor Hatsuzuki had to run to the roof in her skirt to assist in the air defense. Maya followed her, but she changed first, I hear.
Right now, Tachi-san and various naval officers from other bases are holed up in this bunker. All we can discern at the moment are loads of bombs being dropped overhead and anti-aircraft fire. I really hope Hatsuzuki and Maya are doing fine up there. It seems so scary~
From what I can tell from the gossip going around is that Admiral Gui is taking shelter in a different bunker. He's shaken, just like the rest of us, which is a surprise, I hear, amongst the resident shipgirls. For him to be this shaken, they say, this really must have been an unexpected development. And for an air raid of this degree, I have to agree. For even the calm and collected Admiral to lose his head, we must be in dire straits.
Oh, and this bunker, I hear, is Adm. Gui's room. I have no idea why they would construct his room like a bunker, but it's probably just so they can repurpose it as needed while protecting the Admiral himself.
Are the air raid sirens dying down now? Geez, that was quite the scary predicament. I hope the base is just fine~
Alright, enough of this. I think we're set to move out any moment now, so I'll write about this later~
Alright, I guess my optimism wasn't that helpful. I mean, what could I have done.
The dorms are in shambles, and the west wing of the east wing of the administration building was destroyed. That was where we all were moments before the raid, dancing the night away.
Other minor structures were damaged severely, but the only structure to not really take any damage was the arsenal.
The single largest room in the base and it didn't get damaged?
That must have been one hell of a defense~
Oh, geez. The rest of the administration building was left unharmed, which means that important documents and the Admiral's office are still intact. Hmm... it seems like just the important parts were protected while everything else was pretty much razed to the ground.
I mean, if that's the case, then the town's damage might just be a little too mean.
Our building, the one we share with Akigumo, was leveled again. And just when we were about to get into the groove of it~ I'm mad.
But more importantly, after the bombing, Houshou's restaurant was quite damaged. Basically, nobody is having a good time as a result of this air raid.
Taking what we've learned from the past raid, though, we should be able to rebuild the town in no time. Right?
Well, the base is currently undertaking a medium-scale operation, though, so I wonder how that will go following this attack.
Well, until later. It's five in the morning now, and I better get some sleep before I start writing something delusional.
