Y'know, at some point of your career, each day sorta-kinda starts to blend together, you know? I haven't written in here in such a looong time since I was preoccupied with work and building back up the town left and right~. It wasn't as smooth this time since the people who usually helped us out last time were busy on the base. It's a pity, but I'm happy that it's a~ll over now.
Since it's a new month and all, I thought, why not take a break? It's as good a time as any.
So that's why I'm writing this from the onsen in the mountains that I'd promised to write from for such a long time! It's been months since I've been up here last, and that was before this particular establishment was even here! Amazing, huh?
That reminds me: these mountains (the Peaks, as we call it on the base) are actually relatively old. Something like 12 million years old or something. I had to look that one up. That's why they're so rounded and not sharp at the top.
There's lots of trails on the Peaks as well. It was well-traveled on the ocean-facing side since it looked so nice, but the government soon fenced off this land since they didn't want any outsiders spying into our base. It's a shame that nobody else gets to see the beautiful sunsets into the bay, but hey, that means we have it all to ourselves, right~? All 8,000 of us or so. I dunno. There's so many new girls pouring in from the naval base. One day, they're constructed, and they're out on the streets of the town on the next. Makes the housing prices go insane.
Anywaaaay, to get back on topic... what was it again?
Oh, the onsen. Silly me~.
To be completely honest, I don't remember there being a hot spring in these mountains. Then again, once you have the fairies on your side, anything is possible. The reality we live in is amazing, isn't it~?
I'm grateful there is one now since it's so nice to relax in here while watching the setting sun. Did I mention how nice it looks? I've only seen it from up there a handful of times, so I haven't gotten tired of it just yet.
It's not hard to get up there, either. Even though there's plenty of hiking trails to up there, the fairies recently paved a road for us to get up there! Thankfully, I have a car for reporting, but not everyone is that fortunate.
Oh, and did I mention how nice Miss Houshou is? Oh, I guess I should call her Mitsu now. There's a new name registry system in town, and we get to select our given names while making our given name our familial name. Just to make us different and everything.
But she's really nice, she really is~! Makes you feel right at home and everything! Everything has the atmosphere of being in your backyard, yet it's so professional at the same time. It's amazing how she pulls it off! And to top it all off, she's a god at table tennis. Better watch out for her serves! Really makes you want to come back and give her a go again.
What I like best about that particular onsen is that there's something like an infinity pool-like spa that allows you to look around yourself and empty your mind. It's a modern touch that I really like.
Thank goodness that I did that~. I really needed it. Now I'm pumped for more reporting! Oh, mabe next time I could take you to the town hall or to the kyuudo range where all the carrier girls go to practice. Both are interesting, so just wait and see~.
