I created this guide to describe the weapons in the Starship Defense game, available on the DSi shop. This is my first guide ever, and I thought I should give it a try by putting it on DSi Paint. If a lot of people view it, I will attempt to post this guide on GameFAQs and other sites. Enjoy!
Ghost Laser
Power-1
Range-1
Speed-2
Type-Stealth
Cost-100
Power Crystals-N/A
Notes-The Ghost Laser is effective at attacking single enemies. It has decent power and average speed. The Ghost Laser's weakness is that it can't attack enemies right beside it. They basically have to be in front of the laser before it will fire. This weapon is not effective against large groups of enemies.

Berserkers
Power-2
Range-1
Speed-1
Type-Normal
Cost-120
Power Crystals-N/A
Notes-Berserkers fire short-range missiles that explode and damage all enemies within a certain radius. They do nice damage and the speed is better than you would think, but the range is very short. They do much more damage than the Ghost Laser, but they can't attack cloaked enemies.
Rating-3/5
Best Upgrade-Range
Gatling Gun
Power-1
Range-2
Speed-3
Type-Normal
Cost-200
Power Crystals-N/A
Notes-The Gatling Gun is a rapid-fire weapon with exceptional speed and a wide field of fire. The bullets alone don't do much, but the speed of the gun really racks up damage. This weapon has a firing range of over 180 degrees, so this weapon performs best when placed on a corner of your ship.

Best Upgrade-Power
Mag Ray
Power-0
Range-2
Speed-1
Type-Normal
Cost-200
Power Crystals-1
Notes-This really isn't a weapon, it's more of a support item. It attaches to the top of your ship and emits a beam that slowly rotates. If an enemy is touched by the beam, they are held in place for a short time. They are effective at giving your other weapons time to destroy an enemy.

Mine Launcher
Power-3
Range-1
Speed-1
Type-Stealth
Cost-250
Power Crystals-2
Notes-The Mine Launcher is more of a barricade than a true weapon. But rather than blocking enemies, it deals damage to anyone that moves through the small mines it generates. This weapon has about as much range as a Berserker, and it has a rather slow recharge rate. But the power is a different story. Almost any enemy (excluding bosses) that comes into contact with more than 3 mines will be destroyed. The Mine Launcher also reveals cloaked enemies for a short period if a mine deals them damage, allowing other weapons to fire at them.

Starport
Power-2
Range-3
Speed-2
Type-Normal
Cost-330
Power Crystals-2
Notes-My favorite weapon. Starports are weapons that attach to the top of your ship. At first you might not notice what they do or what they destroy. They actually launch small fighters that attack enemies. The fighters can't be destroyed and they do pretty good damage. Best of all, they can attack outside of the Starport's range. This means that if an enemy enters the radius and then exits, the fighters will pursue it outside of the range.
Rating-5/5
Best Upgrade-Range
Storm Gun
Power-3
Range-3
Speed-1
Type-Normal
Cost-350
Power Crystals-3
Notes-The Storm Gun fires a beam of electricity at a single enemy. What makes this weapon so special is the fact that the electricity chains to other enemies and damages them too. One shot can hit over 10 enemies! This weapon has a high damage output and some good range but it has a very slow recharge rate.

Best Upgrade-Speed
Gravigun
Power-3
Range-2
Speed-1
Type-Stealth
Cost-400
Power Crystals-3
Notes-Graviguns generate small black holes that damage enemies that pass through them. These are useful when paired with Mag Rays because the longer enemies are in the black hole, the more damage they receive. These are good in all aspects except speed. The black holes last for a good amount of time but the recharge rate is just too slow.
