The iPhone 15 has only been out for a few months and has already caused some controversy, including a new form of bend-gate, discoloration, and build quality. I will cover them all so if you enjoy, leave a like. let's get on with it.
almost immediately, customers receiving their phones brought new ones in the box, took them out, and began to use their brand-new iPhone...only to realize that almost as soon as they dropped it, or in some cases even put on a case, caused the back glass to shatter. If you have no idea as to why and already condemning the entire iPhone 15 line, let me explain why. the iPhone 15 (or the iPhone XV as I like to call it) is built with a new rim around the phone called titanium. With this new material, the phone rim is lighter, more comfortable to grip, and feels more premium, trust me I should know. However, with the fix from the old material and its problems comes a set of new problems with the new material. what people are calling this online is bend-gate 2.0. As we all know from the iPhone 6, any pressure from the back or to the front causes the phone to bend into quite odd positions and causes them to, most of the time, be rendered useless. As for the iPhone 15, it is similar but instead of bending, but instead of bending the whole phone, the back glass isn't engineered to handle the new titanium and cracks easily. This leads me to believe that because of earth activists and the recent shortage of aluminum, the decision of the iPhone 15's lineup to have titanium was a last-minute decision.
if you ignore the immediacy of the cracked backglass, over some usage time, you will notice some discoloration. again this is because the titanium was a last-minute decision since almost no engineering went into it, when your hands' oils come into contact with titanium, the titanium with have a meaningless reaction to the oils and seemingly change color. this was acknowledged and known to Apple before it was released and their response to the whole is to clean it.
IF that doesn't turn you off from buying a new iPhone XV...THIS WILL. when you buy the phone right now, you might be met with a "shaky" USB-C, and quality control has taken a huge hit, I'm talking dust under cameras, adhesive misalignment, whole features not working in the software itself since the iPhone thinks it is an unknown part, even tho it's built from apple.
all of this to say, I am not happy with Apple right now, and neither are all of the Apple fans right now, if you really want to have the latest iPhone, I'd say to wait until the first quarter of Its life span to see if anything else has popped up or if Apple will address any of the quality control of the iPhone XV or fix bend-gate 2.0 or any other issues.
